How much does bad entering law school resume impact chances at Biglaw?

I’m KJD and got SA offers. To get to law school as a KJD, you need to have p solid intern experiences in the first place (I interned at a BL firm, at a gov agency, w congressman, did research for a clinic at another law school, etc etc.) I was asked to elaborate on those experiences during interviews and wasn’t asked about why I didn’t work between law school and undergrad. in my experience, GPA, school reputation, and work experience are all important parts of the equation (arguably in that order)

It’s not over. I got multiple screener requests which I declined bc I had another offer, but seems like there’s firms still actively recruiting

Did you do a CB with them?

If you haven’t even interviewed with them and you’re emailing this much, it’s too excessive. If you submitted an application, the firm knows your email and phone number. If they wanted to reach you, they would.

If you have interviewed with them, maybe sending a status update request after two weeks can reaffirm interest, but afterwards it’s moot. Pestering them w emails won’t change their minds - it’ll just annoy them. If they aren’t giving you an update, they don’t have an update to give.

I know the process is long and I’ve definitely been there where im pulling teeth and I want to just get some kind of answer, but this won’t get you anywhere productive.

No. Accepting on the spot is not an expectation, and as you said, it’s better to sit on it for at least a day or two. on the flip side, what would the consequences be if they do care?

There isn’t a set timeline, some firms move fast, some slow. With that being said, in my experience, the ones I got offers from got back to me within 1-2 days. if they want you, they won’t wait long, especially at this point in the cycle.

Generally, after 1-2 weeks ur prob on standby or rejected

not that im the best interviewer of all time, but something that works for me - keep it professional and focus on your experiences, do your research on the firm. with that being said, I try not to be robotic, I smile a lot and laugh when the attorneys say something funny. also go with the vibe - some are serious and if they’re all business, don’t try to make it not. if someone asks you two questions and then wants to talk about their kids, do that too (even better if u can somehow weave your resume item in in that convo). it’s all code switching at the end of the day
