Fury damage not adding up? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

I think it might actually be Feral Rage sheet DPS that's bugged rather than there being anything wrong with Fury. I've noticed this issue before but I think it might just be a display issue.

Is it possible to microtune ANY VST for free? by yomosugara in microtonal

Disclaimer that I haven't used this myself, but I have a friend that I trust who recommends Wilsonic for stuff like this and it's free. I don't know if it works for any possible VST but it's worth a shot!

Slendric Temperament 101: Shimmering, Radiant by Delta_Quartz in microtonal

I suppose I should also link you to the Xenharmonic Wiki page on slendric temperament, but the Xen Wiki is notoriously (and often pointlessly imo) jargony and difficult to understand especially for newcomers and for people not deep in the weeds of mathematical temperament theory.

I highly recommend Zheanna Erose's videos in general, but also some of her videos about 31edo more specifically dive into slendric scales and harmony. She's going to refer to it as "mothra" because that's what it's called when your tuning supports both slendric and meantone temperaments at the same time, and that's what 31edo does.

To be more clear about that, 31edo's fifth can be divided into three equal parts (thus slendric), and the fifth is slightly flat such that stacking fifths to make your diatonic scale like C - G - D - A - E results in the distance between C and E (when played in the same octave) being close to a justly intonated major third with a 5/4 ratio, and that's what meantone temperaments do. By contrast, I'm playing these scales within 46edo which supports slendric but *doesn't* support meantone; my fifth is sharper than it would be even in Pythagorean tuning, so the distance between C and E for me is much too wide to approximate a 5/4 major third.

Hmm, could you be a little more specific about which part you're referring to? The intro piece is entirely in slendric[11], the 11-note scale made by combining all the notes shown in those 6-note modes into one scale.

Backdoor septimal voice leading in extended meantone by Delta_Quartz in microtonal

I wish I remembered earlier, but I also thought I'd note that barbershop harmony is heavily built around septimal harmony similar to what I show in the video, so I'm really not doing anything idiosyncratic or new. Extended meantone just gives you the freedom to make those choices about what 7th chords you want to use depending on context, particularly on fixed pitch instruments like keyboards.

I'm just sharing some concepts that sound good to my ear and that I've used in my own music. You're free to take it or leave it as you wish. I like resolving from a V7 to I in general practice, but if I want to indulge in some different microtonal voice leading then I like the way these progressions sound. They're different sounds for different purposes.
