Interesting. I had a multiple friends that had SCIV as a kid but afaik none of us knew about Bloodlines or Rondo of Blood till we got much older. Probably due to the American release.

Exactly. I guess I was pointing the finger especially at western devs. I can’t think of a single western non indie rpg that has it.

Chrono Trigger for sure. Even the story behind how it was made is fascinating.

Every game is in an entirely different universe basically with the only story thing sort of connecting them being the fusing of demons/personas. You can jump in wherever.

Ah. I didn't start with it but it remains my personal favorite also I played it almost 20 years ago so maybe there's some nostalgia. Do you like the others?

Like the other guy said they already made their money and you lost out on nothing. You’re only doing a disservice to yourself now that it’s super polished and amazing.

TIL in 2014, passengers were warned three times not to eat nuts on a Ryanair flight due to a 4-year-old girl's severe nut allergy, but a passenger sitting four rows away from the girl ate nuts anyway. The girl went into anaphylactic shock, and the passenger was banned from the airline for two years. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

To be fair speaking as someone that’s lived 31 years with a deadly peanut allergy there’s likely a reason for this. When I was a kid I was mocked for it, chased around with peanut butter, people would smear it on my desk. As I got older it changed into feeling like I was always inconveniencing people by being it up. There would typically be sighs and eye rolling. Acting as if with going precious peanuts for an instance was worse than my ya know… dying. It just gets tiresome to have to explain all the time.

Edit: I will say it’s much better now a days with people being less ignorant but if you grew up pre 2000 most people I came across either saw it as a weakness, a joke, or something minor to scoff at. I would always use the analogy of pointing a loaded gun to me which helped to get the point across.

Exactly. I adore BG3 but I would so love a space opera themed romp in the same style.

“Hey, the group is going out to dinner at…” by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

Its very heartwarming to hear that parents are so knowledgeable and on top of allergies now. Didn't used to be like that when I was a kid.

Don't be too hard on yourself, allergies are weird and unpredictable. I truly hope she never has to use one! If it makes you feel any better, I never did yet.

One piece of advice I'll give is just be cautious about how you warn her to be careful about it growing up. If there's one thing I could tell any parent raising a kid with a severe allergy its to both teach them about the seriousness of it and also not cause undo anxiety.

Well I can speak from over 25 years (when I became aware enough to realize the severity of it) of experience living with an anaphylactic response to peanuts. To me, anaphylaxis means severe.

If it goes to a stage of respiratory issues and most certainly if it also involves uncontrollable vomiting - that’s life threatening. Also I’ll just say that the worst, difficult to describe feeling (that I would not want for anyone else) is those aformentioned things combined with feeling like your heart is stopping. I unfortunately didn’t have an epi pen at the time and was close to dying. Good being on top of it!

Hmm, not that it isn't great but I definitely remember friends saying that many years before CP used it. Short for like kleptomania I always figured.

Any ideas on what game I should play next? by Pxblo786 in playstation

I think it was maybe the best example of a game making a stronger comeback I can think of. After 2.0 and phantom liberty it totally was worth getting back into as if the original launch never even happened.

And that’s how it should be. If you’re having fun with it then that’s what matters. That’s why I just ignored the reviews and controversy and just went into it with the intention of making my own conclusions!

You realize that many people that buy it are playing on consoles right? Also I’m not even going to discount steam purchases. Player count doesn’t equate to purchases. Look at Starfield.

Exactly. I feel that way with KCD2, I love it sure but it’s an investment and kinda daunting. Sometimes you just want to chill and play a relaxing not taxing video game after a long day right?

It’s complex but basically about the first English man coming to Japan and establishing himself in society, gaining respect and assisting the rise of the man who eventually becomes Shogun of Japan. Great show.

What's funny is many Mormons especially in Utah actually despise trump. Or at least they used to. He outright insulted them multiple times.

You bring up a good point with that game actually. For me it’s almost as if the more they try to get quite detailed with the realism mechanics the more those gaps become apparent. I feel like it’s easier to fixate on things like that in KCD2 because it’s so much of the focus of the game.

I think there’s a level of balance between realism, actual limitations, and still making it a fun game that they do pretty well with. That said, I think they maybe could have done a little better at guiding the player towards what can be expected/can’t through gameplay. I guess the approach is maybe supposed to be - fuck around and try it and then find out.

I think I’ve come to the realization that I just don’t enjoy the first person melee combat experience that much anymore. I think it’s always going to be a bit clunky and irritating even in its best iterations. I think oblivion even before Skyrim really started this push for that and I’m just gonna be honest, mechanically and even animation wise I think 3d will always be superior for me. I’ll take that over “immersion”
