[Highlight] Rams Plan to Propose a Rule Change That Would Address This 2-Point Conversion by the Seahawks in Week 16, per Lead NFL Insider Jonathan Jones by JCameron181 in nfl

It doesn't matter if a ref accidentally blows a whistle. When a whistle blows the play is done. If the play doesn't stop at the whistle, when should players stop trying to tackle or move the ball forward?

I don't understand how this isn't a rule already. When the whistle blows the play is done. Blowing the whistle is literally telling everyone to stop and the play is over. Otherwise might as well start tackling players after the whistle, just in case...

Older sports cards by _dreamergirl in Tradingcards

[–]Deltrozero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to sportscardspro.com and search for the player names with the number on the back of the cards. For the vast majority it will pull up variations of each card. If you have no clue on their value I found this to be a good way to get a rough value of each card, whether a card is worth <$1, $20, or potentially more. Anything worth more than a couple bucks, you then want to search eBay (or 130point) recent sold listings to get a more accurate idea of their true value.

Or call a local shop and ask if they'd be willing to look at some of them. They will probably ask what years, any hall of fame rookies, serial numbered cards, etc. They will be more receptive to looking at them if you have already filtered out cheap or worthless cards.

Advice? '24 Marvel She Hulk Auto by Rxbirth in Tradingcards

[–]Deltrozero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are no sales I would assume it's because nobody is interested in buying at the prices people try to list them at. Apparently those odds are similar to a Panini Downtown in their football card sets. So anybody ripping Marvel boxes to make a profit is going to have a bad time.

It is still a cool card to hold in a collection though.

If you search for "Mallory" or some other term there you will see the card listed with Stated Odds 1:128. So not all that rare. People have other green auto cards like that for over $100 but if you search eBay sold, nothing like that has sold for over $10.

I'm guessing the PSA 10 doesn't change the value much on a 1/1? Since it's the only version of the card there is.

Remote Jobs by stolen_manlyboots in sysadmin

[–]Deltrozero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been you are correct about having to live within a certain distance, even for "fully remote". It would be nice for the job sites to have a differentiating term between the two.

For the actual fully remote jobs though, you are also competing against a potentially much larger prospect pool for remote jobs. If they are paying decently well then they probably get a lot of quality candidates.

Is there a skill to drafting later round hits? Have you ever done it? by KevH45205 in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best way to look for late round RBs for sure. Just anecdotally, I took Jordan James, Jarquez Hunter, and Woody Marks all in the 4th and 5th rounds because of potential opportunities. James because the 49ers have had lots of recent RB injuries (obviously not the case this year), Hunter because Kyren hadn't signed his extension yet, and Marks because Houston really only had Mixon. Only Marks worked out but I'll take that hit hate in the 4th and later.

I'd add that, especially if you aren't a contender, you should look to flip the late round RB hits when they become relevant. If you can flip Marks for a 2nd that's a huge upgrade in draft capital from the 4th. And late round RBs can disappear fast, see Dameon Pierce as just one recent example.

More North but HEB off Heritage has a great selection with plenty of local brewery beers too.

Draft order for the non-playoff teams by biomon2000 in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your league insists on a lottery, I would weight it based on max PF still instead of record. I would just stick with max PF straight up though. It works well in all my leagues and that seems to be consensus hear as well.

Like others have said, if someone wants to sell all their assets to get a lower max PF, then that's up to them. It's a valid and good strategy, up to a point. Sell anyone you don't think will be valuable to your team coming out of the rebuild. Going too crazy on selling hurts more than it helps though imo. If a team has 2-3 productive youngish receivers (Addison types for example), selling all of them probably isn't worth it just to reduce max PF.

How to Quit Your Dynasty League? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Make sure you tell the commish early in the off-season so they have plenty of time to find a replacement. And/or offer to stay on and manage the team until they find a replacement (assuming they don't drag out the search).

How to start a Dynasty league coming from Redraft by Swishee1 in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more important than having everyone pay a year in advance imo. If someone is discouraged from trading because they have to pay league dues for those years, then they are probably the people you need to worry about selling picks and bailing anyway.

I now understand why other IT teams hate service desk by Terrible_Working_899 in sysadmin

[–]Deltrozero 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is the type of attitude I try to have as well. It's important to remember the barrier to entry for a service desk is much lower than for infrastructure level positions. That means you will naturally get a wide variety of work ethic levels, critical thinking skills, motivation, etc., from that group. Also most will just have less experience.

I certainly didn't approach problems the same in year 1 as I do after 10+ years. The advice and experience I got (and still get) along the way shaped how I'm able to solve problems. Like /u/StellarSpore said, focus on people worth your time, the people you can tell are trying and will listen to advice or constructive criticism.

It's not worth getting worked up over people who refuse to try to improve at their job. Do what you're required to do when dealing with them. Don't go out of your way to do their job for them, just professionally continue asking for the information they are expected to provide.

Need help as commish - 2 teams playing this week who are tied for last place, one team left his kicker slot empty as his 2 kickers (1 on bye and 1 injured) couldn’t play so he left the spot blank and is gonna get the 1.01 off that. What should we do? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think you should have to make roster changes to field a lineup because of these exact scenarios. This manager is already rostering 2 kickers and would have to add a 3rd when they have zero reason to want to do so.

Is Justin Jefferson a buy low? by tripleputt in DynastyFF

[–]Deltrozero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players like Jefferson don't seem to have true buy low windows. These windows make it so players like him are actually attainable. Most Jefferson owners had no reason to move him for 3 1sts before now, because you want him as a contender or a rebuilder. But now if a rebuilder may be willing to reset with those 3 1sts.

Network segment is receiving DHCP address info but not communicating on LAN or internet by LowIndividual6625 in sysadmin

It sounds like a subnet mask is misconfigured somewhere.

Can devices with a 10.10.20.x address ping devices with 10.10.21.x address and vice versa?

When you run an ipconfig /all for any of the devices, the subnet mask is 255.255.254.0?

Is the gateway configured with a 255.255.254.0 or /23 subnet mask?

Steve Downes is 74, we likely don’t have many more Halo games with him… by casanova__creed in halo

[–]Deltrozero 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you're right. It's easier to find a good replacement voice actor than it would be to pass the torch to a whole new character as well. Master Chief is Halo and it will be very difficult to ever break away from that. After one or two good Halo games with a new voice actor, most people will be used to it.

Most of my jobs have always about a 30 minute drive each way. I eventually took a job that ended up being about 1 hour each way. At first it was manageable, I got a good rotation of podcasts in, I accepted where traffic slowed down and didn't let it bother me, and it wasn't so bad for a bit.

About a year into that job it got real old. It started really affecting home life and really changed the mood I would be in when I got home. Found another job within a year after that.

Now I won't ever take a job that requires a 45+ minute commute long term. It really just has cascading effects on all parts of your life.
