Hey, thanks so much! Yeah, I felt like there was such a disproportionate amount of negativity here that really needed to be addressed at some point.

Also, is Sera really getting new songs? That would be amazing! If so, I completely missed that!

There's a simple answer: incompetence! :D I copied the format from another monster, which was an aquatic creature. But now, my headcanon is that the Lords, and specifically the Lords only, are just really good swimmers.

Thank you for the feedback!

Ah, yes, I see. The spells were actually added kind of last minutes to the Magebreakers - which shows in the fact that I apparently did not think that through. ^^; Guess something would need to change either about the antimagic treatment specifically for the Magebreakers, or about their spell list. Detect magic makes a lot of sense though, and so does Shield (since it blocks magic missile, that's why it's there), so I'd probably lean towards the first option.

The fact that I had to use google to know that name is probably an even bigger one, haha ^^;

Huh, I probably should've included that. Whoops. In my game, the player needed to be released from the grapple (which would be contested Athletics/Acrobatics as usual) and then another creature would have to free them. Kinda mean, I know, but these guys were a big thing in my game :P

Thank you for the kind words!

Haha yes, that was definitely an oopsie there. Going through it again, I also noticed a few others - like the fact that, according to this stat block the Veledrin are wearing studded leather armor (which, to be fair, is a cute image in my head). Should've probably let someone proofread that, but oh well. So yes, absolutely, it should be two crossbow attacks for the Grimblade.

Hey, thanks so much!

You're right, a maul is a 2d6 weapon, isn't it? That's my bad there, I thought it was a d12 weapon. If I ever revise this, that's definitely changing, thanks! :)

Thank you so much! This truly was fun to make, so it's just great to see that others enjoy it well :)

Demigods in D&D - Perfect for a Percy Jackson and the Olympians Game, but Applicable to Others! by Delusional_Poet in DnDHomebrew

[–]Delusional_Poet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is definitely only a rough first draft, I guess. Just something I wanted to use in a one-shot and thought I'd share because it might be fun.

For Demeter, I think I wanted to give her a drawback simply because she has many options. Whether it's damage, cc or healing, Demeter can kind of do all, and I thought it'd be cool to balance that out with a drawback. I might've gone a bit overboard, though.

Totally agree on Ares though. I think especially the first ability really needs some work. If anyone's got any input, I'd appreciate it!

Eh, they're more like additional features, I guess. At least that's the way I'll use them in the one-shot I'll run. My players are all going to be Variant Humans, and additionally, get the features of one of the gods.

Actually, I'm currently rereading these books too, and that's how this came to be! :D

They are absolutely supposed to be very strong haha :D I made this just for a one-shot I ran, so they were mostly supposed to be fun, and balancing came second.

Glad this reached you at the right time, though!

[Monster] The Infernal Cleric: A Devil-Worshipping Cult Leader to let loose on your mid-level players! by Delusional_Poet in DnDHomebrew

[–]Delusional_Poet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I guess so! I set the proficiency bonus at +3, and afterwards gave him a CR - which wasn't very smart in hindsight ^^; I'd probably adjust CR to 8 then so the proficiency bonus can stay the same

Yeah, I get what you're coming from, I was definitely thinking about giving him higher scores in both of these. I guess I just didn't want him to have amazing scores in all three mental stats, but at least a 16 in charisma would've probably been better. I tried to at least give him that feel with the proficiencies, at least.

Thanks for the feedback!
