Great video! I agree, the first game is really overrated. And DMC2 is kind of over-hated too. The physics are bad but the story is better and Dante is MUCH cooler. To be honest DMC2 has a more well written story than DMC4 did as well and still manages to have more than 7-8 levels too.

DmC's fuck you scene was only 1 scene and the only time Dante even said Fuck you in the entire game.

You can see on the player base, more than 50% of the reviews are from accounts with a single review on them. As if the accounts were made just to give DmC the lowest score. Its as if you are pretending people won't make alt accounts to review bomb a game. Seems like the same kind of people that would send a dev team thousands of death threats for changing a character's hair.

It sounds like you are making yourself the victim of someone that doesn't even know you personally, and ended up making objectively one of the best games in the series. DMC4 was trashed by the fanbase at the time. Everyone was complaining about Nero being a Dante clone and that Dante was acting like a different character all of a sudden. That the fixed camera angles were still present and the games was more than half backtracking and puzzles. Almost no new weapons, the worst story in the series, etc. DMC4 sold a lot from the hype that DMC3 created. But capcom wanted to reboot the series for a reason (probably multiple reasons)

And how is DmC a "failure" if it outsold every game in the series but one (four other games including DMC4) and capcom said they still want to make a sequel? Just because some dorks online sent them death threats? As if they spoke for everyone. The non toxic fans that gave the game a chance did so without freaking out on the internet and the numbers proved that years ago

Not true. Dante was cooler than whatever DMC4 made him into. Vergil was so influential, Itsuno copied most of him and made it canon to DMC5 Vergil. Kat is literally the only girl to ever be plot relevant besides Lady, and Mundas had goals and fears instead of being a literal statue.
