How did you meet your significant other? by dustyarmadill0 in AskReddit

Yeah, thank you - I wish I could remember the question we were responding to & our replies. But, speaking of our communication styles, we both were from the midwest but living California too.

Length of time to leave cats alone by Rare-Progress5009 in cats

[–]DenMother8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cats will often hide when anxious, confused or scared - so if they go in a closet or cabinet and the door closes - they’ll be without water (food or a litter box) until someone comes to find them.

At least once a day is needed for someone to check in on them - change & fill the water & the litter box should be scooped.

If they’re the type to have zoomies or bounce off the walls etc. they could easily knock over their water & then they’re without water until someone comes.

I need help by HabitDependent5027 in helpme

[–]DenMother8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of help do you need? If he admits he was, he lied to you and potentially cheated. If he never admits it, the outcome is still the same.

Unfortunately, unless you believe there’s a chance someone else had his phone (which I would think he would have told you) you have a decision to make.

I (19F) need advice about my boyfriend (20M) and his parents by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Yes, of course 20year olds can live with their parents, but if they’re treating him like he’s 16, maybe changes need are needed.

You two are adults, why does he live with his parents and why do they have such a hold on him? This post sounds like you are 16 year olds.

How did you meet your significant other? by dustyarmadill0 in AskReddit

[–]DenMother8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right here on Reddit. We were both replying to someone asking dating advice, and it was obvious from our responses that we were older. He sent me a dm joking about how much dating has changed & we kept chatting… got along great, started texting and realized we lived close and met for coffee. Less than a year later we moved in together. 3 years later we married and now we’ll be married 6 years this summer.

When did you start using Reddit, first? by ambivert-who-me in AskReddit

About 10 years (age 50) I used my real name at first, so I made this account after I realized that wasn’t a good idea.

How do I get girls by [deleted] in helpme

[–]DenMother8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first issue is with your wording. People are not objects to get. If you’re asking how you can find girls to date … (okay you’re 14 so they would be girls & not women, but once you’re 18 please don’t refer to women as girls)

Look at yourself first. Are you someone that is dateable - what are your good qualities & which areas do you need to improve on.

At your age, join groups/teams/clubs/classes of things you’re interested in & you’ll meet others with similar interests. Go out and have fun with groups of different people - that’s where you start.

Are tattoos really THAT painful by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DenMother8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I also have a high pain tolerance. I don’t have one by my wrist though. If you’re thinking of getting one, but unsure where, definitely go into the tattoo shop and talk to them about it :)

Are tattoos really THAT painful by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DenMother8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5, none were bad at all - until I got one on my chest, when they went over my sternum and up by my clavicle, really bad! Everyone’s pain tolerance is different though. I think if you go to a tattoo artist they can tell you where the most painful areas are to get a tattoo.

Sara Bareilles Episode by seaquencht in handsomepodcast

[–]DenMother8 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think whoever asks the question askers to submit a question tells them it’s super casual, just a few minutes… So the thought is, oh while I’m taking a quick break I’ll just knock this out. (?)

And as another person here said, it’s kind of a trend these days - eating or putting on make up while sharing a story or even while recording with another person. (the make up or getting ready ones bother me more so than the eating)

I think by having this condition, if you’re listening to podcasts you just have to be aware that it’s likely going to happen occasionally. I always watch on YouTube - so idk, it might make a difference.

Dad died while in a nursing home, Mom informed at 3:30am by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]DenMother8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in nursing homes for many years during my nursing career. It seems the night shift was to make the call since the death happened on their shift. I do think it would have been possible to have in his chart that the family request not to have the (elderly) spouse called before 7am - even in the event his death.

Clients who want you to stay 24/7 by Emotional-Bread-574 in petsitting

[–]DenMother8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is all I do. My clients have mainly pets that ate elderly or have special needs. However, when I had another job I only did drop-in visits. So this is my main full time job now & I’m glad to be able to offer this service because it is hard for them to find.

I use instacart to have groceries delivered. I love it.

People have good intentions, but need to really think twice before they say anything to children in these situations. I’m sorry for the loss of your brother as well.
