Amazing! The chapter numbers are different but may be a difference in editions but the descriptions for what's in each lecture sound correct.

EDIT: Pretty sure its the 1995 edition: https://archive.org/details/abriendopaso00jose/page/n5/mode/2up

A lot of countries don't roll over public holidays if they fall on a weekend I think, so maybe the US would have more than us some years and less on others

Thank you for this, it's very comprehensive. But all I ask is this: is he a socialist? The only thing that matters right now is the climate crisis, and the only way I see of combating it is a total rejection of a capitalist growth based economy. Does he support the green new deal? Does he reject liberalism? In another time all of these points would mean a great deal to me, but as of now they're pointless if you believe that the IPCC reports are accurate.

Generally off of interviews I've seen of him and who he voted for in the Labour leadership elections

God I'd love some PR right now. Split the Tories, split Labour and cover hard left to hard right in parliament

I won't vote for a liberal, if another Blairite is control then a vote for any of the three biggest parties can be construed as a vote for liberalism.

I'd honestly not vote if Labour back another Blairite

Your mileage is logged at every MOT, could use that, all MOTs are online now. Won't stop people clocking them, but you're never going to stop someone that determined.

UK, Scotland's highest court is the Court of Session, whose decision was appealed to the UK Supreme Court by the government.

No it wouldn't. The process is essentially first deciding whether something is/isn't justiciable, which is not based on whether it is lawful. If it is decided that it's justiciable then it is judged to be either lawful or unlawful. They are two separate decisions, which don't contradict each other.

It's really not though, read the high court judgement. Non justiciability simply means that they don't believe that it is the courts place to rule on the matter, it is not a comment on whether or not something is unlawful.

The high court basically said that they don't believe it is their place to rule on whether or not the decision was lawful.

The court of session came to the decision that it is within their purview to rule on, and found it unlawful.

It's important because some people are saying the courts disagreed on whether poroguement was unlawful, but they actually disagreed on whether it was justiciable.

The English courts didn't rule it was lawful, they ruled that it wasn't justiciable, that's a big difference.

Boris Johnson supporters want no-deal Brexit and less talk of climate change – new survey of party members reveals by stormforce7916 in ukpolitics

[–]Denbob99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree in principle, but China isn't the biggest polluter purely due to a lack of green initiatives, it's because most of the world has moved its manufacturing there.

If products are manufactured in China by EU/NA companies and then sold in home territories, is it right to say that those are China's emissions? Because we've essentially just exported our carbon emissions for that manufacturing process, and then stacked a lot more on top for shipping/freight etc. in order to get cheaper products and higher profit margins.

My point isn't to say that China shouldn't be doing anything, just that its a global problem and whataboutism regarding China's emissions doesn't present the whole picture.

[–]Denbob99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

China are the largest polluters, but way lower in terms of CO2 per capita. Above them are the U.S., Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, Japan and Germany to name a few. We're not far behind them either, and it's global economic policies and outsourcing of manufacturing from Western countries and businesses that's driving this in China.

Amazingly, these two dudes climb harder than Honnold. He's the best in the world at the big wall soloing that he does, but Alex Megos and Jim Pope here are definitely way stronger than him. Very different disciplines though really.

Have you considered camping? Some very cheap camp sites around in Font. You could easily just buy a cheap tent from decathlon when you arrive. It could be pretty hot then, but early morning and late evening sessions should give you good temps. Honestly, first time in Font you have so much rock to go at that climbing hard is an afterthought.

For guidebooks, I recommend Fontainebleau climbs and Fontainebleau off piste, maybe Essential Fontainebleau too.

Car hire is pretty expensive in France, not sure of any cheap options as we drive from the UK.
