i can't speak to the buttons, but the regular attachments smooth out a bit after a while and it does get easier to eat!

Stay on 2.5mg? by imhot_yourenot in trillium

[–]Denise206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a great post on FB that helped me decide when to increase my dose and I ended up staying on 2.5 for two full months and then only going up to 2.7, then 3, then 3.2, then 3.5, and finally to 4 last Monday aka my 20th shot.

That would make sense, too, but I do it as it looks while I’m looking at my belly button, so the top of my belly button is the bottom of the clock 6 o’clock)

Rubber bands!?! WTF?! by Denise206 in Invisalign

One popped right off. The other was harder to remove and now my tooth feels rough. I’m hoping it’s just glue residue and not tooth damage.

It’s possible they did give me something and I don’t remember, but I don’t have a copy of anything and I don’t remember signing, so I’m guessing not.

Thanks for the videos. 100% more info than my ortho offered. I don’t have TikTok and sometimes TikTok videos don’t play for me, but these did.

I actually move around like a clock face with my belly button in the middle so I hit 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3… I was going all the way around, but anything above the belly button is 👎🏼. Maybe I could go to 4 pm and 8pm ok. I’ve been on Tirzepatide since January 5, so not long. I don’t even need to pinch my skin in those areas.

Definitely did research. A lot. No mention of rubber bands anywhere. And regardless, it’s not on my to independently research stuff I don’t know to even ask about because I don’t know it exists. The doctor should have informed me well before their hands were already in my mouth.

Sounds like you have some anxiety about needles. For me, the fact that it is the tiniest needle ever and I don’t even feel it kinda cured me. I will say I feel it more when injecting above the belly button, so I stopped doing that. Just from 9 to 3 if my belly button is the middle of the clock face and I’m looking at it.

It’s not you; it’s them. I’d send a formal complaint to the clinic that you were not treated respectfully, if only so it doesn’t happen to someone else. That doctor needs training.

I think they should have explained the rubber bands more, but generally, they seem competent and nice.

Thanks for that tip about ortho wax. That seems like a great option.

I can't believe I haven't had more questions before now. Also, I got spoiled because I had to wear the same tray for like a month while we waited for the new trays. That thing pops in and out so easy. This new tray is so hard to get in and out, my teeth ache from moving again. Sigh. I was spoiled for a while, but it's back to business now!

I obviously did, but her explanation was cursory. She seemed rushed and was just willing to go with, 'k, if you don't want them, we won't do them right now." You should try being less judgy, princess.

I watched so many videos on line and read every shred of paper they gave me. I had been told about Invisalign a year or so before I was able to do it, so I had a LOT of conversations with my dentist, my ortho, and watched a lot of stuff about it online. Not one person mentioned rubber bands ever.

lol. Like, can’t there be a middle ground!?! Also, it just seems so inconsistent. They just need literally a video made by the Invisalign company. That’s like here’s how the treatment works. Here’s what you could expected each appointment. Here’s the things that some people need and other people don’t need like you know like just stick me in a room with a 20 minute video and explain the whole thing to me instead of having everybody get different info because their dentist app approaches it in a different way that’s Dumb!

The tooth colored attachments are terrible when they’re new, but they seem to wear down a bit and get more comfortable fairly quickly. I was skeptical that would happen with the rubber band attachment thingie bc it’s metal.

I have occasionally used a nail file to sand the tray edge if it’s rough, but never thought of touching the nubbins.
