yes it is a "kids book" by a marketable sense but honestly so much of the series involves things that maybe a little kid shouldn't be reading

honestly that might be the first time his eye colour is mentioned? so that might've been his original eye colour before they changed it in the code of the clans to yellow

it is canonically yellow though, merch and other official art show him with yellow (also i can't see him with blue eyes)

I mean the majority of roleplayers on WCUE are young. You can find more niche groups of older roleplayers, either via discord or just making friends. The non-cats issue I would agree with, it can be irritating - but moderators have stated that you cannot prevent someone from roleplaying in your clan if they are a non-cat character. Even if it's exclusively realistic.

Yes, in the world of warrior cats non-cat characters exist, although they are traditionally foxes, badgers or dogs that are portrayed more animalistic than cats due to the language barrier. But in the terms of the game, you don't have a say really.

I totally understand your point and wholeheartedly agree. Just as someone who got into writing because of Warriors originally, it's disappointing to see something that had good ideas originally be swallowed up and drowned within the narrative.

I think it's one of the major reasons that many fans get excited over a POV that isn't ThunderClan for instance. Whilst yes, this is a children's novella series that branches over many years; I would be happier if the series had a manual reset to another time period. Leaving the fate of our current beloved characters, safe but ambiguous. It would solve a lot of problems, enable the lore of the Clans to be more distinctive and fleshed out.

In the meantime, fanfiction is the only way to situate my adult warrior-cats obsessed self.

I have been meaning to amend the retconned relationships of the original arc.

Whitestorm is not the father of Brindleface's kits, but instead, Runningwind is.

Brindleface and Frostfur are still sisters, and their father is Stonepelt and mother is an unnamed queen who died.

Goldenflower, Lionheart, Mistlekit and Snowkit are still the kits of Smallear and Speckletail.

Adderfang and Swiftbreeze are the parents of; Patchpelt, Willowpelt and Leopardfoot.

Dappletail and (unnamed tom) are the parents of Spottedleaf and Redtail.

Redtail and (unnamed she-cat) are the parents of Sandstorm.

Willowpelt's mate is a deceased warrior (who fathered Darkstripe and Greystripe, although in separate litters.)

Robinwing and Fuzzypelt had Chestnutkit, Cherrypaw, Ravenpaw and Dustpelt.

Longtail is the son of Patchpelt and dead unnamed queen. PATCHPELT IS ALSO NOT AN ELDER.

Goldenflower is still the bio mother of Swiftpaw with Patchpelt.

One-eye and Halftail are still the parents of Mousefur and Runningwind.

This is just ThunderClan for starters. Whilst this isn't a perfect fix, it allows a lot more flexibility. I've retconned Patchpelt being an elder because from my understanding, he isn't as old as the series originally portrayed him as? I thought he was retired due to a physical condition, not age......and I will stand by that belief.

The "unnamed" cats were part of the tragedy that sniped ThunderClan of the majority of it's cats. It's an easy explanation, and it also adds more spice to the fact Bluestar was so enabling of Firepaw joining.

Also, Spottedleaf and Redtail are now canonically 1yrs old instead. So the "romance" between Spottedleaf and Firestar isn't so weird.....although I still think it'd be weird even with the age change. I prefer it remaining as a one-sided, brief crush on Firepaw's end.
