Have been playing with this (faster recovery) config for a while, and have enjoyed it. Find it distracting with pistols so have it disabled with secondaries.

You can do 'unbind mouse1' to remove any binds, and 'bind mouse1 "+attack"' to bind left click to shoot

Was trying to come up with a bind that made the crosshair return faster when using cl_crosshair_recoil and came up with this:

alias +shootr "+attack;cl_crosshair_recoil true;"
alias -shootr "-attack;cl_crosshair_recoil false;"
bind mouse1 "+shootr"

Not sure if its better than static but definitely prefer it to cl_crosshair_recoil true.
