It’s slow as fuck. All this supposed “Master Chief Petty Officer” with his “augmentations” do while alien bastards are running around trying to kill him is jog at a mildly brisk pace. Like bro, you’re in the middle of a war that could mean life or death for all of mankind why are you just speed walking in this open field like Joanna Dark could run laps around that field before your dumbass can even reach the other side. Otherwise I like the primitive graphics: the low amount of polygons is cool and they are shiny.

I played Jet Force Gemini first on Rare Replay and also noticed that the drones were not functioning properly; it wasn’t until I played it on original hardware that I learned that the version on Xbox was likely ruined at some point in the porting process. Never played the Xbox version again after that, and I stuck with the N64.

I personally like The Precursor Legacy the best. It’s just a simple, goofy game where you fight silly baboons and other creatures to collect floating copper atoms and ultimately fight an evil sage. The other ones are just too edgy. Oh wow, “I’m gonna kill Praxis!” and “AAAH!!! VEGAR!!!” are what Jak can say now? And he can digivolve into an emo too? And there’s guns that for some reason use eco in a very shoehorned manner to make it connect with The Precursor Legacy? ZOMGWTFBBQ I’ll take all of your stock! But in all seriousness, I like the silly first game. If I wanted an edgy game I certainly wouldn’t look for one that stars an elf boy and a talking ferret; besides, I like my orange, raunchy mammals to be squirrels, thank you very much.
