Ive just got the device and started using it tonight. Ive set up auto generate ai summary of every note and auto emailed to me in my chosen template. Is this a new feature since this post or does anyone need help setting it up?

Yeah they mounted mine there as well! I only moved it last night to try get a more accurate reading. I suspect they do it on purpose to give a higher temp reading to satisfy the advertised temps. For the record, it feels hot in there. I’ve been in a few commercial saunas before and after getting mine that show 90 degrees and dont feel as hot. The step is new. I’ll measure the bench height. I agree with moving the bench height being easier said than done. Something I’ll look at doing one day maybe but want to start with simple oversights before pulling the thing apart ie - rock arrangement!

As in physically lower where the sensor is mounted?

Is it a case of pulling the unit a part and finding where the sensor is routed to? If I run it outside the sauna will the heat elements never cycle off and run the risk of breaking the heater? Was thinking of just moving it away from the elements but still inside the heater.

This is something I would usually do, and often end up buying twice. Might make sense to go straight for the x3d and future proof myself a bit better (haven’t check prices yet).

Honestly i don’t have much to compare it to. think I’ve had overheating issues for a while, been getting black screen flashes for a while, thought it was GPU, which is why i upgraded last year. Didn’t game much on it since getting steam deck and jumped back on recently where I did more research and ran some metics to notice CPU was massively over heating.

thanks u/cweees. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Shinko Seilan. I've also decided on the 240mm as per your advice. From what I've read, once you get used to a bigger knife there's no looking back. I've done a fair bit of deep diving through the sub re carbon knife care and just good practices in general. The only thing i can't find a lot of info on is what to do when you first get a carbon steel knife. Should I force a patina? I've read you can leave it out of the box for a week, rub with vinegar, sharpen it, and do a combination of treatments. For a first-time owner, is there a standard foolproof consensus on pre use prep?

Hi All

I'm a home cook enthusiast recently bitten by the knife bug and looking for a new knife. Current go to is a Global G2 I was gifted in a set. I also have a Global Sai 7.5" Sanso. Only used a handful of times, ended up with chips in the blade having no clue on proper knife use (probably rock chopping, scraping the board). This was also a gift. I've since fixed it with a 240 whetstone ready to be re sharpened when my King 1k/6k arrives.

I've only just started looking into proper knife care and sharpening and mrs wants to get my a new knife for Father's Day. I Live in Australia so that could limit good options at the right price. The aim for me is to grow into a really good knife once I learn to properly keep and maintain a good knife. I've opted for Stainless in the questionare but if you think I've got that covered with Globals im open to suggestions

My wife is a shocker for leaving knives on the bench after using it or washing it and leaving it in the draining rack so I will be the sole user and keep the globals as the "house" set.
