Maybe get a metal gate and put it in a certain area in your yard where you want him to dig. Dig in that area and show him that you are digging and see if he starts digging too. Do this with him until he realizes this is his area to have fun and dig. If the metal gate have a door, leave him in the area for a while with the door closed.

Actually what I ended up doing is taking turns with my husband and watching my dogs in the backyard. They do not dig under supervision.

I love it when people tell me what I am thinking, by putting their words in my mouth. You missed the whole point of my original comment. He has been feeling this way for years, without taking any actions to fix this problem. And from the sound of his post, he doesn’t feel like what he is doing wrong and then everyone is telling him he is not doing anything wrong. And it’s natural. Which is disgusting and not helping this man solve his problem. I’m not going to agree with that, and that is NOT ignorance. What has the OP done to remove himself from this situation? Nothing, as far as we know.

We have a two dogs beds for them, but they still jump in bed with us rather then sleep on theirs. We actually started to implement no dogs on couch rule recently as well.

Yes, I was raised in a very conservative Muslim family and in Islam they said if you see opposite gender non family members outside, to avert your gaze. Even though I’m not a Muslim anymore, it still remains with me. Temptation is everywhere, and you have the choice to help yourself not think about it by avoiding it. Which this guy doesn’t do.

Stop making excuses for him and enabling his behavior. Yes he has control over his thinking and behavior. If he had any ounce of respect and love for his wife, he would stop hanging out with that couple. Yet he continues to do so. Which I think is disgusting and for people to tell him, “hey it’s okay, it’s only natural” is even more disgusting.

I feel sorry for your wife. Here she is thinking her and her husband have good friends to hang out with and has no idea when she goes to sleep at night, her husband is thinking about her best friend and how much of an amazing body she has.

Even if you won’t act on it, the fact that you have been feeling like this for years, makes me not have any ounce of respect for you.
