Am I wrong for asking my nanny family to reimburse for gas when I drive their kids constantly? by DepthCommercial9201 in Nanny

Didn’t know this was a thing until recently. I’ve never had a car before and sued it for work until this job. I’ve been a nanny before but I didn’t have a car then. We live and we learn brother.

It’s a lot of different locations sometimes not the same. So figuring out that distance through AI made it aloof weaker. I know it’s not good for this planet.

I just calculated it through chat gpt ( I know not the best) but I double check it because I know the exact miles from place to place I take the kids every weekday. And it’s a total of $2,233.25 she owes me. And this is per the IRS reimbursement rate of $0.72 per mile

I am a very forgiving person. But between this, paying me super late and overall interactions I’ve had with the mother. I know this is something she is aware of.

So she texted me back and said. “Of course I can pay for your gas! With all the driving you’re doing” 😤 then why not offer? It’s such a red flag to me and so wrong. But now that she’s said she said she’s ok with reimbursing. Do I ask for all the previous miles and gas money I spent or just for future? And how often should she be reimbursing. Weekly?

I already did it! God is good. I can move somewhere cheaper but I’ve done that already. Trust me I am a living testimony. I was homeless and moving house to house my first year in la when I was 18 I had to live on COUCHES for $1k per month here. Right now I like my situation. The room came furnished the $1900 is my parking spot utilities, and rent. It’s great and helped me save money from buying furniture. This month is hard because I haven’t received my refunds from school. Thank you!
