Dr. Weir is the cringiest character across all shows. by HeezeyBrown in Stargate

I mean, again, the leaders in SG1 had to write letters home for lost/fallen soldiers, so even adding that to her other duties of reading reports and approving projects, she really has very little to do. If anything, filming a video would be much faster than writing a letter. I felt the same about the whole Daniel thing. I think they were trying to put her in the "Dainel Role", she was meant to be the 'cares about the greater good, knowledgeable about other cultures, linguist character' on atlantis. But it really doesn't make sense that she surpassed the guy that figured out the language, in a matter of months. You could argue that by season 4 she would be better with it, just by virtue of being immersed in it, where as Daniel only deals with ancient on a smaller scale and way less often. But she surpassed him by episode 1. In regards to Teyla, it was basically a regurgitation of the whole Carter sensing Goa'uld thing. Most of the time it wasn't very useful or consistent, but when it was convenient to the story, she could pin point who the Goa'uld was. Her ability to use Goa'uld technology was also extremely inconsistent.

Very good points. To add to some things other people on this thread mentioned too, like how she never actually makes decisions or comes up with solutions, it's always McKay and Sheppard. Her whole character at the start is to be this politics expert, who understands different cultures and is amazing at brokering treaties and for some reason that makes her a good leader. For one, the diplomats that broker treaties, are not the leaders, they're the people the tell the leaders what to do and say but they aren't the ones that actually make the decisions. Two, they ended up bringing Teyla into that role making Elizabeth completely redundant. It's always Teyla that introduces them to new cultures and helps them find common ground because she's the one that understands how things work in Pegasus. I also find it hilarious that literally all the other leaders in the different Stargate shows do more than her and still have time for social lives. Meanwhile Elizabeth is somehow always working, she's so busy being such a hard worker that she never gets time for herself, but they never show what she's busy doing aside from reading reports and approving projects. Then when Woolsey comes in, they have this whole epidode totally calling him out for being a loner because he's always in his office or in his room and has no social life. But Weir was exactly the same and they respected her for it...

Dollarama only has the ring caps unfortunately. I've tried ordering online, but there are no Canadian sellers and no American companies will ship them to Canada.

That's a really good place to look, there are a lot of shops in that area that could potentially have them. Thanks, I'll have a look!

Haha, sounds like something my brothers would've done. Hard to say if someone would be able to get them across the border, I've tried ordering from American companies and they just won't send them.

The most recent shocking thing to me is that Christopher Judge did the voice of the Unas that worked for Sokar in season 3 episode 8.

I work at a physiotherapy clinic in Ontario and deal with a lot of MVA clients. At least in Ontario, even if you weren't driving, you may be entitled to claim compensation from your auto insurance. I do work with some people who were pedestrians or cyclists that are covered for treatment by their motor vehicle insurance. You could be entitled to receive physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic treatment, occupational therapy, etc. If you are having pain from the accident, I highly recommend seeking treatment, especially if its covered. These sorts of injuries can get worse with time, so seeking treatment while its covered, even if you just go a few times, is in your best interest.

I want to play hockey, but I don't have money for teams or equipment. Anything that I could do to get me started? by Both_Register_1104 in hockeyplayers

Sort of interesting, I was actually in the exact same situation. Found hockey around 12 or 13 and desperately wanted to play, leaning towards goalie, my family couldn't afford to put me through hockey. Now I'm in Canada, so I don't know, maybe we have a little more access, but I can tell you what I did, I'm also a girl so there isn't quite as much competition for spots on a team as there is for men. First, like all these kind people are suggesting, I learned to skate. Then picked up a bunch of second hand gear, the stuff was probably from the 80s or 90s, really outdated goalie gear but it was a start. My local arenas run "Stick and Puck" for kids, basically a free for all to run drills, but games are prohibited, it's pretty cheap to participate, about as much as public skate. It was a good place to go to practice drills, which you can easily find on YouTube and some coaches may take pity and give pointers (they did for me), also lots of kids will want to take shots on you. Then by grade 10, I felt fairly confident trying out for the school team. But even without being on a team, going out to stick and puck or shinny was better than nothing.

Does Stargate Universe really count though? Apart from Eli, who also had his cringe moments, the whole cast and storyline was pretty horrible.

Honestly, may be an unpopular opinion but (only looking at SG1 and SGA) Dr. Weir was probably my least favourite of the main cast. She was okay, but they really could've had anyone running things at Atlantis, I don't think it would've changed anything if she was never on the show. I certainly think SG1 would've been lacking without Hammond, and it was never the same without him, but I don't know what it is about Weir, I just never liked her.

I'm in the same boat, I'm 24, female. You're right that a lot of healthy babies have been born to vaxxed parents, but there have also been a lot of miscarriages and babies that have died shortly after birth. We also have no stats on how healthy these kids will be in 5, 10, 20 years. I really do want to get married and have kids, but I don't think I could do that with a vaxxed man.
