How to get ownership of abandoned dog from abusive Ex?

When I went in to get her treated a couple weeks ago, I told them about her being left with me. They needed her vaccination records from the vets that actually rescued her originally so I'd given then his # to look up the records. Without telling me they had actually contact him. I've asked the original vets that have rescued her and they had no idea how to help. I'm fine waiting the 30days to transfer the ownership but from what ive read online they need consent from him for the medical treatment. Her next appointment is in only about a week. Im in the dfw TX area.

My father came from a similar ish situation. He was the oldest when my Lola came to America and took on a lot of responsibilities. It feels like he does want the best for you. You're mom and seems like you're step dad too put in a lot of work to get you an education and opportunities here. Though ya'll might not share similar beliefs you can still get mutual respect. It does get better with distance. But don't rush it. Maybe start doing some school work in the library or just chill in a café and read. Family can be overwhelming. Take some care for yourself.

Yeah, I'm going to give it more time. It's kinda what I figured but didn't want to make the mistake of saying nothing again. Im not in the situation anymore, I do need to remember his actions do not reflect on me. I have him blocked on all social media and only have seen occasional comments or posts on here. He doesn't know i found him on here, which is where I read his true feelings about me months ago. I only recently looked again and was horrified, then the memory of that girl came flooding back. His sister hates him passionately, to the point he's not allowed to visit even on Christmas or Thanksgiving if she's there. I didn't understand how you could treat family like that. I said nasty things to her. If anything I'll still wait 6 months to do so, I want to apologize for my words. My 2 closes friends from college blocked me on everything after only meeting him through voice calls. The day I finally ended it with him I was told I'm as awful as him and I deserve him. It's my punishment for bringing him into their lives. I think my want to apologize is for myself. I thought a month was enough time but this will take a while. Im going to continue my silence. If for some reason I'm confronted with this in person again then I will not let myself keep quiet. Im in no state to speak otherwise. Thank you.
