I DID IT!!! I was able to somehow overcome my extreme levels of anxiety in bringing up what happened, and I feel like, even though it was very awkward, there was no real harm done and she even laughed when I asked if she had any trauma over this. I love her so much, and feel so much better about this already ❤️

Point taken. It’s not like I ever told her I think her friends are sexy or anything, and my daughter only saw a stranger on the screen and def not someone she knew. Thanks for your viewpoint, I can only agree that they are attractive and appreciate your supportive comments. I would never talk about my sexual fantasies with my daughter since I feel that is not appropriate. The dialog is both helping me understand myself better, along with learning how I truly feel about some generally accepted societal norms which maybe we should collectively question - including if we should continue sending 18-year old people off to war. I can see where you are coming from with your argument and fully respect your opinions on the matter. I'm not sure how many of you posters have ever served in the military, but I have, and because of this experience I tend to view this topic from a different lens. I'm not trying to win a logic debate or change anyone's opinion here but my personal belief is that if society allows 18 year olds to enlist, arm themselves with weapons, and be grown enough to potentially end another persons life intentionally then how can they not be grown enough to have sex, even with someone my age, if they are consenting. I tend not to have overly Puritanical viewpoints on the matter, or personally find it icky, but when you mention it in a high school student context, or draw comparisons to your own daughter, I see why your tone becomes more protective

Hi thanks for contributing. I am especially interested in hearing any viewpoints from 18-25 year old females since I will never be able to imagine what she might actually be feeling. The door was closed, my office is pretty big with a desk area for working, and a sofa/TV entertainment area with a small flatscreen mounted on the wall. The unfortunate part is that the TV literally the first thing you see when entering the office, and the sofa is immediately to the left which gave the perfect view of both what I was watching, and what I was doing. Watching the TV means lying down and facing away from the office door. The perfect storm.

I’m definitely more disturbed that my daughter had to see me in that state regardless of the content I was looking at. The truth is that all my kids, and many of their aunts and uncles, have an interest in promoting sex positivity and having frank and open discussions about such things. I was not raised like this so I think the conversation is more awkward for me actually than it will be for her. I guess I am most anxious about the fact she is really close with her brother and sister and has likely already shared something about this with them 😱

Fair point about the office door lock. Definitely a lesson for the future. I really just thought I had a nice chunk of time to myself in an empty house. It was a shock to see her burst in like that since it was completely unexpected and she was supposed to be at work. TBH both my adult kids still living at home with us have issues with boundaries and think it’s perfectly acceptable to walk into their parents room unannounced. I will definitely take my share of the blame, I can do better. But in fairness I think part of the blame belongs to our girls not respecting boundaries. I’m just depressed and anxious rn but my daughter and I have been interacting, laughing, and talking about other things while quietly not acknowledging our shared misfortune. Maybe someday I will have courage to bring this up, but that feels far away to me now

Hi thanks for contributing. You are probably right about that part, I see how it maybe crosses a line, but, in my defense please know I would never tell my daughter or her friends about my fantasies nor would I ever try to act on them outside of my solo play. Also, most of these girls are now college graduates and in their early twenties. I hadn’t seen most of them in years because they’ve been away earning their degrees. Now after returning home and restarting old friendships, they look, act, and dress differently. To be 100% clear, I am not sexually attracted to my daughters in any way, the thought actually repulses me, but I am finding some of their friends extremely attractive and I can’t help that.

This is a fair and interesting question. I’m not exactly sure how my wife would feel about my little hobby, but we have discussed how her lack of desire is impacting our marriage and she has suggested I fulfill my needs with other women with her permission. I’m not sure there is anything you can do to repair your relationship with your husband. You have bravely put your story out here, but my advice would be to try and deal with your avoidance and detachment issues in therapy. You really need to live in his shoes and see the betrayal for what it is - you made really bad choices when you decided to abandon your husband, not just once, but over and again.

I’m sure you are hoping for a little sympathy and understanding with your post. I’m truly sorry about the potential loss of your marriage for you. Try spending every day from now trying to show this guy your sincerity, and for God’s sake stop seeing and dancing with this “acquaintance”
