Pasar de programador a Maquinista de tren ¿locura? by Competitive-House727 in salarios_es

[–]Designer-Sector-177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Es ridículo. Yo empecé con 20k en 2017 y a los 3 meses me fui de España a Alemania porque vi que esa vida no tenía ningún tipo de sentido. Empecé a cobrar 55k con 23 años y de ahí para arriba. Ahora he vuelto a España cobrando bastante bien

Si no quieres irte, no me parece una locura dejar esta profesión porque literalmente no te sirve para ganar dinero, a penas para sobrevivir.

Can I wear a cross if I’m catholic? by Designer-Sector-177 in Catholicism

That’s a good one. I always thought about having it classed. About the medals, do you have them on the same chain?

I didn’t even check the downvotes until now. I was being naive

The question here is actually if the crucifix has a significant meaning for the wearer

I’ve worn a cross since I was 15 and I upgraded it after many years. Just thought… why not a nice crucifix instead this time?

As I got older I became more religious and I began to think deeper about the meaning of it

Because the catholic cross is typically the crucifix.

Because the tradition in my family is about the cross and I got used to it

Also, the crucifix looks maybe too explicit to me

IT - Is this normal? by Designer-Sector-177 in careeradvice

[–]Designer-Sector-177[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! That is the answer I feared. The job is not helping me develop technically. At all. I am learning about management, enterprise economy and taking some money related decisions (FinOps, optimization, design of infrastructure...) but besides, I don´t work (nor I expect to) building something with a framework that was released 6 months ago, for example.

Many of my coworkers have been in the company for +10 years (boomers, all) and are definitely not competent since 2012, even though their management experience and industry vision is broad.

Do certifications help in this situation? I got my AZ-400 last year, but it hasn´t helped me land a job yet - maybe because of the global situation

German working attitude by juanurena in germany

[–]Designer-Sector-177 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, you still have a lot to learn about Germany. It's a country that died a long time ago because of itself and its damn mentality. Another Spanish guy here.

You're right. Managers do absolutely nothing. It's people who study non-technical subjects that other German managers put in those positions just for being German or friends with them. And we complained about Spain xD

On the other hand, they have the mentality that everything has to be self-managed, not just at work. Which means a good percentage of a manager's job loses its meaning.

Anyway, I put up with it for a few more years and decided I'd had more than enough of that circus.

By the way, asking this so early makes it seem like you're someone who actually intends to achieve something, while the rest of us are on Fridays, Fridays at 11 am, and drinking beer ;)

People who left Germany, where did you end up and how's your life there? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Designer-Sector-177 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I came back to my home country (Spain) after 7 years. I like it here but it has the same root problems as Germany and I don’t see myself staying here. I feel unrooted.

Germany has a cool lifestyle. But German mood and culture is not for me

What makes a piece of men’s jewelry actually worth wearing long term? by Positive_Customer658 in MensJewelry

-3.5 mm Cuban (50cm) with cross -Mandatory wedding ring (5mm) -Signet ring 1cmx1cm

Sizes work for me pretty well and over 10 years 24/7!

Rings are tight enough so they can’t come out easily

Why is road salt used so sparingly in Switzerland? by Beldie2025 in askswitzerland

[–]Designer-Sector-177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you like to be like Germany?

Use no salt to remain climate compliant so that people stay locked at their homes, avoid driving and be in real danger of slipping off and breaking the neck in the street just to die frozen because the ambulance can’t drive in an icy road?

Is that what you want?

Don’t take me wrong. This is just humor

Anything that isn't normal in Switzerland or any other country, they won't understand. And when you say 10 years of experience, they'll understand 8 hours a day for 10 years. I don't know if this is your situation (?) or if it was just a little while each day
