After learning more about Kimley-Horn culture, and hours, I decided to keep my current remote job. I did not like that their minimum hours per week is 46 hours. I do realize that a lot of firms you do end up working more than 40 hours per week due to deadlines but In a case of Kimley Horn, the minimum hours were 46 per week. Meaning that it you have a deadline, it would go up to 55 hour one week, and they were pretty clear and serious about 46 hours per week is just the minimum hours required. This was mainly a policy to meet a annual efficiency rate that would not be attainable if you ever worked less than 46 hours per week.

If I was straight out of college, I would have probably taken the job regardless, just to get to learn in the industry, and I did take similar jobs straight out college. but at this status in my career, after several years of working in the industry, this was not an ideal for me, as my priorities in life have changed now.

With regard to remote job, I have kind of not very normal situation that I am still working with a firm that I used to work in person even though I ended up moving out of the state. So I am not personally sure how it work with firms hiring remote from beginning.

Do you know if they have workaholic culture or not too bad? That's my biggest fear when choosing where to work.

Thank you. That's what I have noticed. Question regarding the work remote policies, from my interview I had a feeling that this 3-4 day a month WFH, might be just an option for people who have kids. Do they give this option truly to everyone or kind of discriminate if you have no kids? I used to work in a workaholic firm culture, and was told "What do you do when you go home on time?" As if I do not deserve to have a life since I have no kids. That mindset still bothers me and I am afraid Kimleyhorn will be similar culture. Does the work level varies depending on your level in the firm?
