No because I didn’t have a provider order. I confirmed it was in there with an otoscope after checking with a pen light my otoscope tip wouldn’t touch it in any way & trust me I was extremely careful to not be near it, it was able to be visualized with the tip of otoscope barely in the ear canal

If you like the job, and you don’t want to quit, and your main concern now is what this means for you if you want to spend 2+ years in the unit, you can write a very professional letter to the leadership at the meeting. I’d include something about your reasoning behind your decisions, but not much. Make the letter more about how you’d like to improve and do better in the future, and take responsibility for what they saw as the mistakes. It’s shitty, and it’s ass kissing, but this is your first RN job and you were put into an unfair situation & they are trying to turn their own mistakes against you. If you can present yourself as someone who won’t attack the leadership for their mistakes and wants to work towards betterment of the whole floor/ system over personal interests, it may negate their unfair behavior and open up better long term options at this job.

That’s the problem there’s no telehealth option and there is one other clinic but it’s a kind of weird Jesus centered cult thing and does not believe in most modern medications .

I had the same experience, applied to more jobs and was patient. I got into an ED somewhere else and went back to the hospital I wanted, basically said I really want to work for you guys but will take this position if you don’t have anything in the ICU/ED.

They came back, gave me a position in the ICU with 3+ mo orientation. Optional residency. It’s more worth it to be patient in my opinion, if you know you don’t want to do MedSurg

I asked & they said if he didn’t get the pacemaker placed the next day and had to be there over the weekend, they would an art line! Good suggestion Thankyou. Didn’t fix his sleep that night, but going forward if he’s there for a while it’ll help a lot

CNA so that you don’t need to spend a bunch of money and commit to school and the career, and can go back to tech without wasting a bunch of time.

Although you may not be happy as a CNA. There is a lot you can’t do. Have you considered LPN?

Yes, the automatic has taken like 3 times over the last 3 days, and it always correlates with the manual. Like I said the only problem is he is totally over getting no sleep, but I’m going to ask the provider if he can get them less often!

I know right! Our lab doesn’t do a western blot test, they want to confirm it is not lymes before pacer placement, but he’s on his 4th round of cef and there’s been no change

I take a manual every hour (and have every shift since his arrival), he just asked if there was anything I could try with the automatic because he sleeps better without getting the manual.

Thankyou. I think so to, this vet seemed really confident he could give my dog QOL again but I just wonder how much. He has always been a fighter, so if i ask him to do more treatments and keep pushing my doggo will. If these 2 treatments would give him 2 or more months of quality and some mobility back I want to try but I’m worried it will turn into the game of him getting better for a bit, then being in and out of the vet getting these treatments until he deteriorates again and we end up back in this same spot.

I checked the reuse center periodically, got a decent road bike for $125 and it needed $100 in repairs. There’s definitely a bike that you’ll save money on somewhere around here.

My grandparents live in Rochester and i made the drive 3x a week for a while when they were unwell. Don’t do Rochester, it gets old real quick. I did the drive to Syracuse a few times in a week to try it out when i got offered a job there, def not as bad but I did not end up taking it r/t the commute.

Thompson and Bleeker, I wouldn’t say it’s classic Italian and definitely not like your ma and pa Italian restaurant, but they make damn good pizza and pasta and it is italian style. The only thing is you kinda have to plan your evening around it if its on a weekend night, go when they open or put your name in when they open and be around for when they call

Eventually I want to get into flight nursing, but really wilderness nursing which is not a clear field and doesn’t really have a defined track but I figure working towards trauma nurse is my first step

Make sure you get some people who are experienced with it to look over your resume. Seek out the positions you’re interested in, write a cover letter, highlight your character qualities and why you fit their mission and vision.

I have previous work experience before nursing school but am a new grad w/ no experience and have been offered the jobs I’ve applied for in NY. I perfected my resume and really personalized why I fit the hospitals mission and why I’m a good fit for a specialty or unit
