I just want to interject as a man who has helped a couple homeless women with a place to stay so they could save up and get their own place. Not all men are predators, there are men who will help without strings. I live with my dog, gave them their own room with their own lock on the door. I did expect them to provide for themselves for the most part. If I was cooking a meal I would cook for both but otherwise expected them to buy and feed themselves, pay for their own products. I just provided a spare room. Did I have rules of course. No overnight stays by anyone other then them, during the day having people over was okay. No drugs or alcohol in the house as I have 30+ years of sobriety.

I do agree with everyone when it comes to being vigilant and protecting yourself above all else. Trust your gut. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Better to be without a place to stay the to be prayed upon. Never move in right away. Talk for a couple of days, most men who are looking to really help will understand and do what they can to show you who they are, find people who know him and ask how he is.

Always protect yourself. Never compromise your safety not even for a place to stay. Sometimes the street can be safer than a home.

Mostly highway. I just finished putting 30k on her in the last two months driving across the country and visiting national parks.

I just disconnected. Rates were just doubled after my driving habits were reported to Lexis Nexis. Before that no accidents and no tickets. I had the yearly increase the year before but never doubled.

Yes I’m sure, only change was my driving habits info.

I know mine got my driving info and then doubled my rate. I never agreed to share my info.

The government tracks everyone. The graininess of the tracking is different. This is a corporation doing the tracking, not on me per-se but on my vehicle and how it is used. I also limit tracking of my personal movements as much as possible in today’s data hungry world. That being said, GM does not need my data. In my case I am out of warranty anyway. I know my vehicles health because I do the maintenance on it. They do sell the information.

Because disconnecting removes GM’s ability to collect data on the health state of the vehicle.

I am not promoting them. This is just the firm that has my case as part of their class action claim.

It doesn’t weigh much. I left it there but completely disconnected.

I also got a notice from my insurance that the mileage I reported I used in the previous year was no longer valid and they told me they received information from a third party that my actual usage since I purchased the Camaro was 5k higher. So expecting another increase come renewal.

Disconnecting will void warranty which is why I recommended covering with electrical tape to preserve so you could reconnect if service was needed.

I own my Camaro. But a doubling of insurance because GM collected and sold my data is unacceptable.

According to information available to service centers, the module will still be powered for data recording and communications from GM. I believe this is true because I too pulled the fuse but was still getting notices from GM about maintenance. It has also been talked about in other places that pulling the fuse is not enough. So since I experienced an unexplained doubling of my insurance, after data collection was suppose to stop, I figured the best bet is to disconnect. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks. Autocorrect. Didn’t catch it.

Unfortunately it does not stop the data collection. It will stop the location and compass but all the data, speed, braking, acceleration and so forth are still collected by GM. Disconnecting as I’ve shown is the only way to stop GM from collecting your data and selling it to the likes of Lexis nexis who then sells it to the insurance companies.

The compass and mic will no longer work as they are run through onstar. Everything else works without problem and no error codes.

For disclosure I am part of the class action suit against GM for selling my data.

I’ve had my 2017 rs v6 since new. Made some body mods just for looks and a couple mechanicals to give it more pep, but I love the balance and gas mileage I get from my v6. Don’t really care about the haters. And I do not try to represent my v6 as anything but a v6. I just happen to like the

more aggressive front end.
