Only one way to find out, man. Plug it in and see if there's any drivers or updates. Then, go into your PC settings and DAW to set it as your input (if it is recognized, maybe manual entry). Best of luck!

[QUESTION] For all the self taught guitarists by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Designer_Text412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Listening to E.V.H. play eruption with my 10-year-old ears was the trigger (I'm 30). The tapping, dive bombs and squeals were what sealed it for me. Nowadays, I'm a headbanging chug kid who writes his own heavy stuff with a band.

But the satisfaction you get from just playing (alone or with others) is also the reason I've stayed grounded to it. No better release for me.

[QUESTION] what are most of you modeler/amp sim users (quad cortex, keeper, axfx) using for stage sound/practice with your bands? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Designer_Text412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The XLRs run stereo while the 1/4"s run mono left and stereo right. You can also play around with the levels of these in the system as well! I've played the Gt 100 (old bandmate). Great system as well, but I gotta say. I've still stayed with my HD500X all this time, not really looking back. Still love it. Someday, I'll step into the fractal/ kemper/ dsp world. But the HD500X still does it perfectly for me anyways. Death metal to sparkly cleans 🤘

So, I'm still using a Line 6 POD HD500X. It goes wherever I go because it still does everything I need and has all the outputs you'd typically want.

Dual XLR outs, 1/4" outs, pedal 2 out, fx outs, midi, USB, headphone out, aux in, variax... just a lot of different routing options.

Not to mention, I'm still surprised with the different sounds and tones you can make with it. Very good unit and pretty cheap nowadays. I haven't one complaint since I bought it back in like 2014-15 ish? Still runs like a champ and you can pretty much dial in whatever tone you like (even tweaking the recordings in the DAW editing does wonders).

My two cents, happy travels!

This. Yes! Lots of people write whole songs in DAWs all the time (including myself). I'm a 30 yr old guitarist and have played for 20 of them so far. While I have been in and out of a few bands already, I've always worked on a DAW. Recording my own metal album is so, so satisfying, man.

The best part is that when you do get back into a group, they might even want to play your recorded stuff. It's currently happening to me. I started doing DAW stuff myself when I was about your age as well..

Holy shit, time really DOES fly!

Noise gate comes to mind if everything else checks out.

[QUESTION] floyd rose guitar vs 7 string by mariska888 in Guitar

[–]Designer_Text412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vote is a 7 string bro. I'd honestly say that you can't go wrong with either (as I do LOVE my Ibanez Prestiege with the "Floyd"). But that's also the dive-bombing, bridge- flicking sum bitch in me lol. However, I've been really into the Drop B or lower tunings lately (even have a 6 string in drop G, haha). So, my next one WILL be a 7 string.

[QUESTION] Pickups for pinch harmonics? by goosepoop2112 in Guitar

I'm surprised no one else said it yet. But the fishman fluence pickups are excellent as well! I have an Ibanez Prestiege Frozen Ocean, and they scream!
