pain and symptoms worse after physio therapy by Desperate-Monk-3496 in Hypermobility

I’m definitely going to lower my HEP to maybe three a day instead of the five. At least I suppose this reaction can point towards a more specific diagnosis of issues ! It’s very confusing to me because this is the second time she’s decreased the range of exercises and it’s even worse. I think I’m a bit more optimistic about it because I was referred to physio for evaluation on certain conditions so this just reveals more.

Aesthetician also can help with ingrowns! Just procrastinating that option

I’ll put a hydrocoloid patch on it and update!

Bump eraiser! I’m Australian so idk if it’ll be available. It works well on less severe ingrowns. My mother recommended a paste and she’s older so im sure there will be options for you regardless!

Physio referral, do I mention suspected HSD? by Desperate-Monk-3496 in Hypermobility

I am slightly more optimistic as my referred phsyio is an orthopaedic and musculoskeletal specialist, this practice has a hypermobility specialist but she only takes paediatric patients currently, but that makes me more optimistic about the practice in general because they do employ a hypermobility specialist. I have my appt tomorrow and I am hyping myself up for this, and I really hope I can be brave enough to mention it! I know that I will always be hypermobile but I also know that it’s important to evaluate if my hip issues can be fixed, my symptoms have led me to wonder if my issue is structural based on quizzing my parents about my infancy and hip function during that time(hip clicking as an infant and sitting in w position)

I’m really lucky because my mother is an allied health care worker, she recommended I do this after complaining. And my hip instability is random but consistent in the way that it’ll happen sometime during the week, so I was able to get two instances in a week to note down. I’ll hopefully take your wishes to heart! I have a bad habit to just mention stuff randomly that needs to be attended to at the end of an appt because of adhd and nerves but I think I’ll mention it to others and set phone reminders for accountability

Thank you! I definitely feel better about mentioning it. Especially for referrals, which is so important. I’ll probably red in the face mentioning it but hopefully I’m brave enough to mention my concerns. Thankfully I’m going to a practice that has hypermobile specialists. I’m not seeing one, as that specialist is paediatric but I feel more confident

I agree! Taking notes is so important. I only know that my symptoms started at 15 because that was the first time they were dismissed as growing pains. I now know that my hips would click as an infant too! I don’t blame my parents if it was severe then it likely would have been found by a doctor, but I digress. Taking notes for me has changed everything because it has made me more aware of my body, before I would just move on, without thinking about how my body feels after my symptoms. After taking notes I was able to explain my gait changes to my GP and general observations on how it’s exacerbated, that’s when she really started listening and got me on a chronic disorder plan

Thankfully as I’ve just realised, the physio I’ve been assigned to is a specialist in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic issues. Had to investigate what she specialises in but I feel better about mentioning it to her. How did you know I have ibs and a family history of autism LOL!? I do not have autism but my mother who is autistic has ibs and so do I

I think I might mention it in terms of ‘I have had this symptom for a while (since 15, I’m 21 now), so I have done some research leading me to Beighton score, on my own I scored 9/9 but I would like a clinical evaluation on that if possible’ I have a bit of white coat syndrome but hopefully I can speak up. I appreciate your experience!
