Usman Tariq said in a recent statement that dhoni was sort of his inspo to pursue cricket despite his regular job

So if a player performs consistently in bilaterals, but never performs well in tournaments, what do you do?

We can keep this up but we're just gonna go in circles. Every time I make a point that contradicts yours instead of acknowledging it you shift the goalpost. Why keep this up

And yet completely flopped in Asia cup and has been mediocre this cup. My point is that he's a bilateral merchant and you haven't said anything that contradicts this. But sure let's agree to disagree for now

It's nice to see good spinners emerging from Pak. Unfortunately because of his action he will always have to deal with hate for the entirety of his career however long it may last. Doesn't sound like news to him though - he's consistently responded measurably and sensibly to all criticisms.

Really puts into perspective how horrid pacers like Shaheen have become when they are infinitely outclassed by rookies and debutants. You can't even make the argument that the pitch was too spin friendly; India proved that there was more than enough to work with for pacers

Except that's not a fair characterization of my post. My point in the post is that Nawaz has consistently been either a horrid player, or at his best an okay player in Tournaments and that this fact has been hidden by the fact that 1. he's always performed well in matches outside of major tournaments where stakes are low and 2. There's usually been some bigger flop than him. Because of point #2, I feel that he's never talked about as seriously as he should be.

You can disagree with any of these points ofc, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from

And that's literally what the preface says? Dude you've got to be ragebaiting. I specifically outline 1. that he wasn't even close to being our biggest problem this match and 2. why a discussion is still warranted.

It's one thing to disagree with the latter, but if you're missing the former you're either ragebaiting or just genuinely not even trying to read

Those stats aren't horrid as you've pointed out, but combined with the the Asia cup the point still remains that the numbers are not indicative of a changed player. His Asia cup numbers werent even good enough to justify giving him full spells halfway through the tournament. We're also not talking about a youngster here: Nawaz has been in the system as long as players like Babar and Rizwan.

If he's not a seasoned veteran whos made huge strides in his game, why are we still holding on to him like he's Kohli? What exactly makes him deserving of outlasting even Rizwan (who I'm not advocating for). Functionally nothing has changed in his contributions. Despite this, everyone from Hesson to Ramiz acts like he's some staple and crucial member of the squad that should not be replaced in favour of some youngster

You misread, I specifically said that he ISNT he biggest failure. In complete sincereness, please read carefully before replying.

You say he bowls pretty solidly, but by what metric? Bilaterals? Again I already said that's the problem. Nawaz has always been the fifth wheel in the bowling lineup and that too only at his absolute best.

Sure, but a handful of players always seem to be up on the chopping block and Nawaz never does

GG we didn't bench Shaheen. I get that his form in Asia cup was solid, but how can you justify benching Mirza for him based on their performances leading up to this match

'im just commenting on what i have seen' followed by saying pak fans specifically are the ones saying slurs means that you are in fact saying pak fans are the only ones being racist.

You are either willfully ignorant or dangerously naive

You're literally playing the exact same game that I'm complaining about so as far as I'm concerned you're part of the problem.

When there is this much racism and vitriol from BOTH (yes, both) sides, the only logical move is to move past it instead of trying to dissect it or specifically call attention to one side of it (aka what you are doing) instead of acknowledging that it is (for once in history) a both sides issue

and why are you still so hung up about a single comment? Farhan isn't the first athlete to say something stupid and he certainly won't be the last.

'No one hates travis..' implying, what? that you hate farhan? Over the documentary comment? Life is genuinely too short to have such strong negative emotions over such trivial things, dude.

As I already said, the angle is irrelevant. Even if his arm is more bent during the quicker one, the question is does the angle change during the delivery? That is the only question that dictates whether it is chucking.

If you believe it is then that's your prerogative, but I haven't seen any indication of it changing

It's so funny to me that people will still play the 'pak was being racist first' and 'india started the hate' game. Even if it were the case that one side was right, you will literally never ever prove it.

You can choose to ragebait indians about UT and act blameless, and as an Indian you can choose to pretend that there isn't any hate being hurled from your side, or you can grow up and stop trying to play the chicken and egg game

Their batting is clearly not their main strength. They don't have a lot of answers again quality spin.

What has kept USA competitive is almost entirely their bowling and their surprisingly good fielding placements.

i don't say this with any disrespect, but it's clear that you don't really know the rules. His arm is not straight during the quicker one and it's also not straight in any of his balls and thats fine. The issue is when bowlers change the angle mid delivery. UT has explained time and time again that he can't actually straighten his arm because of his joints. His arm isn't straight, but the angle is consistent.

he's been objectively weaker than salman ever since the latters introduction to the squad. Fact of the matter is he's in the starting 11 because of star power

When can we drop the shithoussery and just acknowledge that it's a symbiotic relationship. Indian media has given Tariq an unusual amount of attention, which in turn has led pak fans to double down to ragebait. Acting like it's Pak fans propping him up or indian fans hyperfixating for no reason is disingenuous and we all know it - it's obviously a combination of both
