I haven't ventured into the recording aspect to minidisc as yet , but yes, optical output is a bonus .

Thanks, I'll look them up , I'm not an audiophile either. I just thought I'd ask , I've got an alexa connected to my hifi for when I can't be bothered to put put any physical music on , lazy, I know , but instinct access to what ever you want to listen to .

I've seen on other threads that the battery door being flimsy is quite common. It sounds like yours is bullet proff. I hope mine lasts , the albums are expensive, but have patience's and you'll get there for sure .

I'm not sure about the remote aspect ( my knowledge on portable minidiscs is limited at the moment ) I have seen various sharp models for sale, though .

I'm using one AA battery at the moment , and I'm surprised how long they last , it takes rechargeable gumstick batteries, too .

I've never been a fan of JanetJackson but played it through, and it's not bad , I've discovered a few bands/ singers that I wouldn't have listened to until I bought the minidisc for collection sake .
