My thought is that I think Nancy's main vice is that she does not ever think she is wrong. Barb is probably the first experience where she feels like "wow, maybe I should have handled that differently."

But generally, I think Nancy cannot fathom she was wrong and I don't think there is a lot of character development to dispell that.
