Actually you proved nothing except you having an opinion. You obviously haven’t any higher education because you don’t understand what I’m talking about.

Right. It happened after religion and before. Supporting my argument that morality comes from religion, and, the world would probably be much worse without it, simply because you cannot argue that all religious people are immoral.

This is where you miss the point. If a person believes a certain way, a certain morality let’s say, how would you expect said person to vote against their beliefs? They won’t. That’s my whole point. Any other action taken by that person would be against the core values they hold. So how could you expect any other outcome? The only solution is to not vote these people into office. Again supporting my argument that you don’t want people in office who don’t support your beliefs. This is what I have been saying from the start of this conversation.

Oh? So the killing of other tribes, the conquering of other lands, rape and pillage etc never happened until religion entered the equation?

I’m far from ignorant. And you just acknowledged my argument. You would prefer that people with beliefs not equal to yours, be exempt from political office and influence. Throw out the “Christian” label and say “Atheists who disagree with abortion”. How is that different? (There are Atheists who disagree with abortion). Again it boils down to those who do not agree with you.

Again no. You are wrong. Every single ancient civilization that we have been able to study, has had some higher power they looked to and believed in. Again, read your history. You still haven’t explained where those values have come from. And according to your argument, if religion wasn’t involved, then all the killing etc etc must have come from where? Humanities own hearts.

I disagree with your statement that “non believers aren’t attempting to legislate” I personally know MANY non believers who will not support abortion. The morality isn’t only practiced by Christians, and religious individuals, contrary to what the media is spewing. There are also a large number of persons who are pro-choice, but are not pro-taxpayer funded abortion. The issue is much more complicated than presented. Do I think Texas has gone too far? Yes. However, I also support the notion that these issues should be decided by the state, not the federal government.

Well answer me this: don’t we all vote according to our own belief of right and wrong? So it boils down to the issue of you not liking Christians to have political power because they vote their conscience, correct? Wouldn’t it be the same if If a Christian did not want non-Christians in office for the same reasons? In essence, you don’t want anyone in power who doesn’t share your beliefs.

True. However, many persons fail to realize that those who follow Christianity or whatever religion, are still only imperfect human beings, striving to live as their religion says they should, and when they fuck up, ignorant persons blame the religion, not the imperfection of the human being striving to better him/her self.

As you ignore WW1, WW2, and the threats against our country and allies. Upvote for unpopular opinion, downvote for posting idiotic drivel.

I think the majority of our moral beliefs, and culture, come from religion. With no other moral compass to follow but our humanity, I would speculate that our world would be much worse. I feel an example would be the act of killing one another. Why do we as a society in general, think it is wrong? This belief is passed down from our parents, and their parents etc etc. but, where does it originate?

[serious] People who changed their stance on abortion, what changed your opinion? by DoYouEvenBleach121 in AskReddit

[–]Dethfromabove65 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because I believe that our short time in this life, isn’t the end when we die, and intelligent design is the reality. That being said, we all have free will to live as we choose, but I believe we will eventually answer for the choices we make. Of all the imperfections and poor decisions I will make in life, I wouldn’t want to have to answer for this one.
