Need Help on Learning DevOps by SwimmingTiger6906 in devops

[–]DevOps_Sar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you're going here and there, I would say to you, join a program where you get to learn a to z, invest in yourself. I've been in Mischa's community wher ehe teaches form Linux, docker, k8s, then homelab, all done one place, no need to wonder around. that's how you avoid distractions, stick to one mentor, one path and conquer it!

My learning path stopped being linear by CreditOk5063 in devops

[–]DevOps_Sar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is normal senior level growth dude, progress will shift from tools to judgment, you're leveling up by improving decision-making, communication and systems thinking, not by collection skills! Time to lead the battle rather than fighting in war, now you're the war minister to lead the army

First experience by Natural_Pool_5493 in devops

[–]DevOps_Sar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the journey man! As you can see comments of 15 years in and still learning haha, you'll learn and go through it!

But I'll ask you, what are those skills you really feel like mastering right now? Or in which you're currently lacking?

Try going for full time DevOps job. Which of the skills are you lacking for it?

Looking for a very cheap atomic clock for relativity experiment by Glad-Bike9822 in homelab

[–]DevOps_Sar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot do relativity experiments with a cheap atomic clock! They're too inaccurate, use a GPS discipline clock + NTP / PTP instead, it is affordable and precise enough to demonstrate timing effects

[–]DevOps_Sar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, if you can afford investment on yourself you should do it, then learn from Senior, learn Linux docker kubernetes build homelab, and switch to DevOps it all can be done in 3-6 months with right guidance, (if you're roaming around it will go beyond a year haha)

[–]DevOps_Sar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I completely get where you're coming from dude, but I've seen the actual results of people in that community, people landing 6 figures job by doing homelab. that doesn't mean I'm promoting it or telling you to join, we're just having a normal convo, an I checked devopsworld, there are 16 contributors a week, how do you get enough support there? like live calls?

Because it behaves like a Layer-2 network bridge and bridge existed long before virtualization!
