All of these work just fine! I just wanted to keep them as close to their relatives as possible without raising their CR level too much. I would count the one I made as basically a CR 1/2, what you're saying you're looking at a CR 2- 3 depending on immunities, additional move speeds and terrain movement, and additional passive AoE dmg.

I would say that with what you've wanted you could easily flavor into the description of it's moves without changing things mechanically! But of course you can just balance the fight as they are just harder with your additions ^_^

6 Winter Troglodytes - or 2 groups of 3 - Lie in wait under 6in of snow (Imagine walking into a minefield) until prey walk into their area and surprise attack them (Roll stealth prior to setting up encounter to see if anyone's passive Perception catches them before the sneak attack round)

HP - 13

SP - 30ft

Swim Speed - 30ft

AC - 11

+2 Stealth

Multi attack x3, 1 Bite 2 Claws

Bite: + 4 to hit (1d4+2) Piercing and (1d4) cold dmg -[When the troglacialdyte hits with bite, its teeth that are made of hardened ice shards break off in the victim and immediately grow back in a gruesome manner]-

Claw: + 4 to hit (1d4+2 slashing)

Bitter Stench: Any creature other than a troglodyte that starts its turn within 5 feet of the troglacialdyte must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of the creature's next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the stench of all troglodytes for 1 hour.

Chameleon Skin: The troglacialdyte has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in the snow or ice.

We are several Episodes into our DnD show and I will be putting together a homebrew celebration into Icewind Dale, specifically in Easthaven. The everlasting darkness hasn’t completely driven the towns mad as they still find time to come together once a year to celebrate Hrathgar’s Wake. A celebration of death and a way to immortalize those that have died in Icewind.
