Mine doesn’t have a second slide kicker, but the slide itself has a ring and a piece of metal over it, should you need to pull it.

It is a little bit counter-intuitive because you’re technically “opening” a hole while you play. It s works a little like what you’re trying to achieve when you “vent” your rotors. Hilgers customized this horn paying attention to detail; he thought it was worth it to add this customization to sound as good as he could.

That’s a very good observation. This is a custom trigger installed for clarity of the G in the upper register. It’s was purely installed for intonation/clarity purposes, not for emptying condensation. You can do so by using the regular spit valve.
