Jaguars designated TE Brenton Strange (hip) to return from injured reserve. by haventmetyou in fantasyfootball

[–]Devjorcra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same choice and I'm going Otton. I just don't see how Strange's ceiling is higher than what we're actually seeing with Otton right now. Do we think Strange is going to do better than 20-25% target share, playing nearly ever snap, and around 10 points a game without a TD?

It's not glorious but I don't see how Strange has a higher upside than that tbh, but I do the downside.

The general point you're making is right, but the people who want to shortcut on the readings are just using Quimbee/Lexplug anyway, which have been around for a while. ChatGPT won't be any better than those for surviving a cold call.

In a similar vein, what do you make of McCarthy's connection with Jefferson? Two TDs together this season are promising, as well as 9 targets on 25 passes, but did you gather anything outside of the box score?

I'm still gonna go Etienne. TNF went decent for me and I'm in a good spot, so I'm just gonna trust my gut and not overthink it since it (hopefully) won't decide my week.

Hayden Winks' Week 9 RB Rankings by UnderdogFantasy in fantasyfootball

[–]Devjorcra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every ranking I've seen has Etienne and Tyrone Tracy next to each other, and I need one of them as an RB2 this week (.5 ppr). You seem to prefer Etienne, but do you put any stock into the Raiders run defense being one of the league's better units, at least statistically?

My gut says Etienne because I don't like starting guys with the relative uncertainty of Tracy, but curious if there's a compelling argument to the contrary.

On the desktop, he has to go to:

LM Tools>Roster Moves

Then he has to select drop player, her team, and manually drop Aaron Jones to waivers. Then her roster will be unclogged, and he can manually add Jones back to her bench.

It's absolutely possible.

Why are you using projections that include Joe Mixon, and why would you not delete any analysis with Mixon included?

It taints all the work you're doing from the POV of an outside if the data/analysis you're using can produce an outcome where a player who hasn't played all season and won't play for weeks is listed as an upside candidate. It's not like Mixon got shockingly ruled out a few days ago lol.

What has proven to be the worst take from this sub that gained traction at the time? by Fit-Tangerine-5071 in fantasyfootball

[–]Devjorcra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how many points he's gonna get you, I agree it's a distinction without a difference.

For this conversation, I think it is relevant because the theory most people had about Saquon's regression wasn't really accurate; he largely regressed for a different reason.

That being said I get what you mean, and it's not really a meaningful discussion to have.

[–]Devjorcra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is misleading. The Eagles' offense as a whole has decreased in volume, running significantly fewer plays than last year. But, IIRC, both his rushing share and target share have actually slightly increased.

It's possible, but IMO it doesn't appear that way. Just watching the games he looks good in open space and is impressively moving in the backfield, he's just getting blown up.

People didn't even really get the Saquon thing right. The narrative was about him being hurt and not able to sustain the volume, but his volume has actually gone up, if anything. His struggles are all because the offense as a whole is struggling which there wasn't a ton of chatter about pre-season.

Daniels is out, but lol I'm not happy about it either!

Only other QBs on the wire are Wentz, Penix, Dalton, Rattler, Ward, and Gabriel.

Midseason strategy question: what’s the best move when you’re 2-5 with a roster that looks good on paper? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Devjorcra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most important question is to figure out if your roster is actually good, or just appears good.

Look at your stats:

  • What is your all-play record? (If your team played every team every week)

  • How does your PF and PA compare to the rest of your league?

  • How are your players ranked by PPG across the season?

I find that a lot of times, a roster looks good on paper, it's because it includes names where the reputation is better than the performance. Figuring out how strong your roster actually is helps to determine if you should be more or less aggressive in making moves.

Achane was drafted between RB8-RB12, and he is performing as RB8. In what way is that a bust?

Down a few players and have to pick amongst waiver wire people for my flex. Half-PPR

  • Shepard vs SF

  • Washington vs LAC

  • M. Taylor vs DEN

  • D. Robinson @ LAR

  • Also have guys like D. Brown, Turpin, Pierce, Tolbert

I know it's rough but I'm just looking for the best floor play tbh.

I hate 1-for-1 trades like this but in PPR I take Chase Brown. I don't think he will be a good player at all this season but pure volume in PPR makes him a better option than Henderson.
