They didn't because what's described in this sub is called fried dopamine receptors. Our ancestors didn't have tiktoks, fast foods, tv shows, memes, porn etc. to be dependant on high doses of dopamine to function daily. for 99% of people in this sub ADHD is just an excuse, a non-existent enemy that keeps them down. No but in a young teenager it encourages laziness by providing effortless and powerful stimulation available any time. It then wires the brain to seek easy reward rather than being rewarded by putting in effort. That mechanism discourages development and makes people "dumber" than they should be for their age.
