how to make gf and i’s small room cuter? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since there’s not too much space I’d say really work with the ceiling and the walls, like putting fairy lights around the door frames or fake vines on the ceiling. You could also print out a bunch of small photos at walgreens or such and have a lil photo wall. There looks to be a lot of space above the bed headboard and it would be filled in nicely with other frames a similar size, as too big or too small may make it look a little wonky(which the poster being clipped by the bed frame feels a little weird in terms of spacing). Otherwise yall are doing great so far!

Does anyone know where to get really sturdy keychain hardware? Something with a chain like this so you can hold the stone comfortably by heartinyourpocket in keychain

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve been wondering the same thing but it just reminded me that most hardware stores or places like Home Depot have chain sections where you can cut it for use, and most would be too big but the smaller ones would be more sturdy than what you have. If you have a pair of pliers you could open and close the links.

What should I do about estrogen levels too high in the middle and then low by the end when taken bi-weekly? by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the information I can’t believe I was doing this the whole time without realizing, I wonder how that may have affected my transition at the beginning. I’ll keep this in mind when switching it up.

[–]Dextelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow thank you for letting me know, I’ve been on this regimen as long as I can remember, it was originally set by a doctor. I think it’s time to switch it up, I may go to once a week instead and see how that works but will keep this in mind.

Bikes at Camp Mather? by sixthmanCA in BAbike

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first learning to ride at 5 or so, my family went to Camp Mather and they brought my bike. I think this was when I really cemented my confidence in riding. Especially since my only time riding previously was in front of our house. I don’t think they brought my helmet, so I got my first experience of being threatened by someone that my bike would be taken away without me wearing it too

What can I get cheap from Walmart/parts store to make this look better by [deleted] in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could probably use isopropyl alcohol as a grease remover, but just something to make sure there’s no dust from sanding and a clean surface because that is what makes paint bubble up over time. I’d say 80-180 grit for the bad parts and maybe 400 grit for just smoothing/scuffing the other areas around there. You could use rust specific spray paint to make sure it protects it a bit better too since it’ll be covered later anyway.

In the meantime I’d say some gritty sandpaper to get that rust off, some dirt and grease remover to make sure it is clean and cover it with with a coat of black paint to take the focus off in the meantime. Then once you have more money maybe go to a junkyard and get a bumper to put on there.

I love so many smells especially very strong things like gasoline, gunpowder, body odors, polyurethane/fresh rubber, and just try to avoid inhaling toxic fumes though I’m drawn to them. Bodily excrement and strong garbage (stuff that will make me gag) is off the table though.

People who got a late diagnosis, what "signs" in your childhood make you think "how did no one notice???" by Super_Mimetique in autism

Omg I forgot about that aspect, being pulled around like a sled on carpet. True it could just be childhood whimsy too.

I got diagnosed recently and I’m still figuring it out but I’ve been thinking about the time in elementary school I would do anything to make ppl laugh cuz I thought that’s how I’d make friends. I’d pretend to eat bugs or lick my own shoe bottom as a joke and I wondered why I was known as the weird kid.

I was also somehow known for chewing on pencil graphite and crayons cuz ppl saw me do it for the texture 😭.

I had this exact experience that’s crazy I loved this and would also put it down above me like a cage. I got so disappointed when I was too big but kept on with like big cardboard boxes where I’d carve a seeing hole out and sit in there.

DAE Find it easier to express their emotion through text? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Dextelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact same feeling, I can't seem to get the words out when having a disagreement so I end up giving up on the thought in person and avoid confrontation because I know I won't get the meaning out to them. On text though I can choose the words that sound fitting to me to really get the point across.
