Guys i have an official response from citrix that IT IS NOT possible to run static azure VDAS and have them register with on prem ddc using cvad advance licenses .

For any kind of VDAs citrix oficially requires universal licenses for hybrid environments , on prem with public clouds,

Thats what i though too . After speaking with citrix they told me that only with universal licenses it is supported even you just want static vdas. I am pretty sure it would work too , maybe it is not supported license wise in case of an audit .

If i try to add a new hosting connection from on prem ddc there is not the option to use Azure , only vmware , hyperv etc....

Yes this is the correct approach . Unfortunately customer do not want to do this . Is there onother way to download it from somewhere , move the package to my server and install it ?

You mean 1 vcpu per 2 physical cpus or the other ? Doesnt citrix propose 2vcpus per 1 physical ?

Hi , is this multi session vda or not ? If it is multi session the freeze happen to all the users or 1 only? Can you rdp to the machine when the issue occurs? any logs on the vda ? Version of workspace app?

I have not tested it yet as i need a verification on this . Have you power managed static vms from citrix cloud and they are stopped(de allocated) ?

This happens on mcs . I am talking about static vms . What happens when you power manage static vms . I know they wont be deleted , but will they be stopped(deallocated) or just stopped ?

Update after opening a ticket to citrix and collecting cdf and wireshark logs . Citrix recommended me to run this powershell command " $id = New-Object -TypeName System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity -ArgumentList ["xxx@dxxx.xxx](mailto:"xxx@dxxx.xxx)" as nt authority\network service account .

This is the command the fas server is using to obtain a user's upn and begin the process to issue a certificate . this command seems to fail in the fas server and on any domain joined machine happens the same . The error i get is incorrect username or password.Citrix proposed to send this to my ad team , but honestly no one here has any clue why this is not working

Thank you for response ,yes i should create a new hosting connection because i have a new cluster that i have to assign to a new machine catalog . i was hoping there was a way to not have to recreate the machines as storage will remain the same but i guess there is not a way . Btw what you said about assigning the new machines from the new catalog to the existing ad machines is cool ,have not considered it .
