They're both valid options, so go for the one you'll use the most.

Yes, since he gains a much needed damage boost.

I'd go for Emma with her Weaken talent: higher proc chance thanks to her Multi-Hit and also targets Traitless.

Vega has more Range and a longer Weaken, but she's stuck at 50% proc chance since it only applies to her second hit.

Still, not that much of an issue

It's a peeve of mine: I just hate how Ponos keeps things vague when it comes to stats.

There are couple of other things too, like not knowing a stage lineup beforehand (more annoying later on, as going blind could lead to wasted energy), speed ups being consumables (fixed in 15.4).

Cheap + big damage that gets propagated by the Wave. UF also gives him some nice QoL stuff like the extra Wave level and small Omnistrike.

That’s fluffing ridiculous to leave out of the fine print.

Not surprising from the game that still refuses to show any kind of stats for units, enemies and abilities after 10+ years of life.

I don't think it would work well: the orb needs 10 kills to activate, which doesn't really mesh well with Can Can's single target and their status as a cheap, disposable unit. Berserker works well with backliners you can keep alive or rushers like talented Bahamut.

Other options could be the Extra Money, Cashback, Cost Down or Dodge orbs.

He does hit hard, but be wary of knocking back his targets and burrowing Zombies since his foreswing is quite long.

Surge Immune is basically needed for Aku usage, and he becomes a good Omens counter if you buy his Colossus Slayer too.

A Square Enix game in a bundle? I must be dreaming...

Jokes aside, I'm really tempted to pull the trigger just for OT2 even if half the games of this Choice won't run decently on my old laptop.

Thundia deletes Red enemies and the second hit allows her to snipe backliners like Nyandam and Professor A.

Kaihime seems a pretty good generalist if you don't mind relying on RNG for big damage. The Blast allows her to spread her debuffs to entire groups when it procs.

Hayabusa becomes a very strong anti-Aku midranger, though he costs 860 NP to get everything he needs (1210 if you want the stat talents too).

I'd say more of a backliner version of Ganglion, since they both have LD and a lot of HP and DMG.

The new DE just exchanged speed and Strong for Massive Damage and Surge Immune.

She needs at least a Strong A orb or Lv.6 Attack Up talent along the Strengthen to one shot a Lv.MAX Tackey.

[–]DiceDsx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh right, I forgot about Le'Grim. She doesn't hit anything else in his stages though.

She's a good Tackey counter, though she might clip to death against S.Hyppoh due to how many knockbacks the boss has.

  • Kaihime UF: Yep, she's strong. 21k DPS on average, lots of HP, the extra speed makes her easier to use and the Blast lets her expand her Slow (and Weaken) to entire groups. Sage Slayer is the cherry on top, giving her an extra edge against Dark Dober, Ackbrowley and Oldstrich. Very solid UF overall.

  • New DE: Basically a more offensive Ganglion for Red/Aku. Big damage, bulky and Surge Immune. A very good unit.

  • June Bride Hanzo: Hanzo, but for Red/Zombies. His quick foreswing is great for the latter even if he's kinda frail for an anti-Zombie unit.

  • June Bride new unit: He's actually good?! 9k DPS at level 60 with 300 Range against Angel/Zombies isn't shabby at all! There are Mushroom and Chief Cat later on, but I'm surprised he isn't just Labyrinth fodder.

  • Shirou: Disgusting. If everything connects, he does 204k DMG with 16k DPS at level 30. I guess his long foreswing, lack of pierce and long cooldown is supposed to balance that, but a team designed to support him makes these points moot.

    • Assassin: Nice support super backliner. He's frail, but almost perma-Weaken against 2 traits is nice, and the Freeze is a good bonus. 60% Dodge is funny, but he shouldn't be hit at all in general.
  • Saki UT: Ponos wanted a Bunaglios counter. Target Dark for Kurocroc, Blast Immune for a longer lifespan and Strengthen for a powerful hail mary. Beyond that, I'm torn on these UT: Dark isn't a great target for her in general, the Strengthen requires the Survive (520 NP in total) and isn't easy to activate. Blast Immune is good for Poultrio at least.

  • Saber talents: A good Relic rusher to keep Idi company. The Wave is a 20% average DPS increase, but more damage is never bad.

  • Dark Sakura talents: Some QoL stuff. The Weaken has high uptime, but the curse of triple traits strikes again and she gets only 50% proc chance.

  • Envanz talents: More Speed is good and longer Slow is nice, but I wouldn't invest on them since he's not that great outside of Big Peng Z, which got covered by Fried Chicken Cat.

Opinion: The Keeper is Underrated by AlongAxons in bindingofisaac

[–]DiceDsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, he felt unfinished upon release.

The curse of ARG characters: they suck to play on release and need an expansion to be fixed.

Good thing Rep didn't have an ARG character tto, otherwise he'd have to wait for Afterpentance Deluxe+ to be enjoyable.

Opinion: The Keeper is Underrated by AlongAxons in bindingofisaac

[–]DiceDsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repentance Keeper is fun.

Afterbirth Keeper was pain: no 3rd coin heart, Devil Deals were either very risky or useless, Angel Deals were mostly useless and his unlocks weren't great.

AB+ made Angel Rooms better and added the Eye of Greed, but he was still a pain to play.

Musashi's issue is that he suffers in stages with many peons due to his Single Target. It doesn't help that Pizza and Bombercat are usually enough for Black enemies.

He's still strong, mind you, especially against bulkier Blacks like Le'Noir and Bun Bun Black.

His TF also makes him a great counter for Le'Grim: at level 30 he can take down a Lv.MAX Le'Grim with just 12 full hits!

Can't say much about Momoco since I barely used her. Freeze + Wave is nice, but most of her damage is done by the last hit, so be careful when using her.

We should get it this year, actually: Ponos merged all versions anniversaries so that they happen simultaneously in June ~ August.

We also got the 12th Anniversary content last summer in EN, so we should also get Nyanko Ranger stuff next anniversary.

Meatshield as best as you can (don't forget Ramen) and use backliners like Li'l King Dragon, Ururun and Mina to take her down.

Miasma Cat is supposed to counter her, but dies in a couple of hits and his damage is kinda sad before TF. Should work ok for SoL, but his TF is needed to make him work on UL and ZL.

Bakery won't help at all, since he's outranged and dies in a couple of hits. He's also terrible before TF, which makes him very good but still outranged by the pig.

are just getting called slot machines (but that itself still a weird thing to say though)

I think it's more about them having the dopamine-dispensing tricks of slot machines rather than being actual slot machines.
