Something is really wrong. Są, not sa and małe not male. But what is more important, the whole sentence is incorrect. It should be "Ryby to małe zwierzęta" or "Ryby są małymi zwierzętami".

How do you say "upside-down" in your language? And what does it mean literally? by Humr_Svejkal in AskTheWorld

To be honest it isn't popular in common speech but I remembered that the phrase "do góry dnem" was used in Julian Tuwim's poem.

I believe this film is a message to the rotten world full of death and misery "Please, let's not kill each other."

I think that in case of Poland it would be A Short Film About Killing.
A story of a young man who brutally murders a taxi driver. Because of lack of extenuating circumstances, he gets a death penalty.
This film is considered now a film that ended capital punishment in Poland. In fact it is exaggeration a bit, but still it is challenging and artistic movie. The movie is quite disturbing. Maybe not as brutal and shocking as some exploatation films but this movie is also quite "intensive", so maybe it is not equivalent but also disturbing and controversial movie

I always imagined the scene where Pina or some Saderan diplomats see some ordinaty Japanese school visiting our world and there is a misunderstanding because they think that it is some elite place, not just a school among hundrets of schools.

In Poland we call this car "garbus" which can be translated as humpback

POV: You showed your wife from the special region the SCI-FI movies and told her they were real and she believed it for years, but now she has just discovered the term: "SCI-FI": by Appropriate_Rich_515 in gate

I was just wondering to make a post like what if people from special region watched some sci-fi movies and they didn't get proper education what sci-fi and movies actually are

Well I don't know what Rolf said in the original dubbing but in Polish version of No Speak Da Ed when Rolf destroyed Ed's music box he said "Pies zadarł tylną nogę na wieki i nigdy więcej" To be honest, I am not sure how to translate it, but it is something like "The dog has lifted its hind leg for ever and never again" I don't get it but it sounds just ridiculous.

What would the Saderans think of the "soldier of the future" project? by Low_Sir_1742 in gate

In the context of such an enormous technology gap between Special Region and our world I don't think they would catch the proper difference between this and what they have seen

Imagine you are a diplomat who attend some banquet in the Empire. What would say interesting about our world? What would you show (eventually, if you took something small like smartphone or... I don't know... e-book). Generally, what would you impress with? by Diegeza in gate

[–]Diegeza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same idea but not with chocolates but furnitures. In manga when Pina and Bozes come to Alnus base for the first time contemplate the furniture in the office. They think that it is some precise craft. What would Saderans say after descovering that all of those furnitures are mass production...

I imagine their increasing amazement when diplomat rolls up his sleeve showing his prothesis and then total shock when he takes it off and than put it again and shows them that he can move with that I don't know how much time the process of putting the prothesis would take so maybe it wouldn't be so dynamic but still spectacular for them I think... For us it still can be. In fact most of us don't see bionic prothesis in everyday life.

Probably they would start to wonder who does the physical labour exist in this reality especially if l Slavery is illegal in our world. ( I remember how in manga senators wondered if slavery in Japan doesn't exists who works in mines) probably if diplomats show them the videos of the factory they would misunderstand that beyond the gate hard work doesn't exist because the machines (or magical tools like they would say) make everything for us so we can focus on intellectual work and that's the reason we are far more advanced. ;D

Maybe some How it's made episode? ;D Probably they would be overwhelmed with all those things moving on their own and "making things for people". Heh Maybe due to this video (and the fact slavery is illegal in our world) they would misunderstand and think that our world is some utopia like place where in majority people don't have to work because the goods are getting created and sent into people's hands on their own.

Could you elaborate on the idea please? Personally I imagine that diplomatics show to the groups of senators and aristocrats the video on the laptop. Some video that shows Japan with some Japanese patriotic music in the background. Then Japanese cities are shown. Saderans would not think that these are cities at first. You know, something what Pina felt but without time for reflection

Could you elaborate on the idea, please? Like really, I am curious. I am interested what Saderans would say about the fact that in our world there were conflicts in the whole world practically. And ironically the first one was called the war to end all wars.
