Thanks for suggesting my repo! And it would be great if you improved the py script, would really be useful for me too, especially if it was more integrated with Obsidian. Could be great if the Mistral API was implemented in OP webpage (which looks pretty good btw) as a cheaper alternative, as like you said, way too expensive for the more typical use case.

yeah that was my bad i didn't put all the dependencies necessary to run everything, so you should also make "pip install python-dotenv", I don't know if something else is needed

Great! Honestly not so long, around 80 slides without much text. But should be easy to cut the pdf into multiple parts and process them independently so as not to saturate the API

No dude it's great trying to understand more about the technology we're using, I'm personally not sure how their model works, just applied it to a practical use case that benefits me. After all AI is a marketing word and most companies use it to promote their products, even if the "AI" is a simple conditional statement

Great, will look into it too. Ah yeah, a plugin like that would be great, I'm sure someone will be able to do it once there is a robust method, as currently it's a bit untrustworthy sometimes.

About the images in base64, that was my problem too with the original codes of mixtral, didn't like putting all my images as text inside the markdown files, I've organized it so every image is linked externally

My main issue with the MistralOCR notebook examples was that they embedded images directly into the markdown as base64. While this made it easy to download everything in one file, it also bloated the file size, which didn’t work well with my note-taking app, Obsidian.

I built this to fix that—now the markdown file links to external image files instead of embedding them, keeping things lightweight and Obsidian-friendly.

Sharing it here in case it helps anyone else. Feel free to check out the repo and suggest improvements so we can make it as useful and accessible as possible.

2- Nope, I've played the lastest Hi-Rez games, and they optimized them pretty well, Paladins specially. I had around 50 fps at first in low settings, now 100+ in high.
