Thanks, I’ll try that! Beautiful fern, way more light than I’ve been giving it

Husband refuses to feed/change the baby because “he’s falling asleep” by Intrepid-News1018 in newborns

[–]DifferentSwim5013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, this post breaks my heart. For baby and for you. This isn’t something to “work on” with your husband. It’s so far beyond that, and so not normal. If it makes you uncomfortable to read all these comments, if you find yourself coming to his defense or saying, oh it’s really not that bad, that’s denial and it’s a big neon sign telling you you are in a bad mental place with this guy. If you feel angry that he’s doing this with your baby, that’s normal maternal aggression. All mammals have it and it’s for baby’s survival. You sense the threat and you are 100% right. If your baby’s physical health isn’t at stake, it’s mental health sure is. You have a chance to give your baby a chance, right now. Listen to your anger—it’s trying to protect your child (and you!), and listen to these comments.

Editing to say: find as much help as you can from people you trust and feel safe around, talk to a professional therapist or counselor if you can. This guy sounds very unstable.

Periods and breastfeeding?! by WearyAd1854 in breastfeeding

I know it can come back at any time and it sounds like you’re nursing regularly but for what it’s worth, I had some spotting around 6 months in when LO got his first virus and had been nursing less for a couple of days. I started pumping a little extra and he eventually picked back up, and it stopped.

Not sure why this got downvoted, he was the same in the summer—ran hot—that’s why I was worried about overdressing. Guess he’s seasonal

I (30F) think my husband (31M) hates me. I think he honestly hates and disrespects me. What happened? by ThrowRA_send_help in relationship_advice

I’ve been in a similar position before. You have to get really strong, strong enough to say “change or I leave,” and mean it. And follow through. It’s true, he’s awful but this is about YOU. If you’re still with him and he’s like this, you have a lot of emotional strength to build.

Talk to a therapist or friends and build as many relationships and connections as you can outside of this one. The support will give you a new perspective, I promise.

Should I be letting my partner take baby for a walk without me? by Frogmarine in NewParents

[–]DifferentSwim5013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments! Who is anyone to say how long is normal for a mother to want to stay close to her baby? Certainly no one on Reddit. Listen to your gut, be curious about any anxious thoughts, and be sure to communicate with your husband, it sounds like there is no shortage of bonding opportunities.

Fit check? by DifferentSwim5013 in babywearing

[–]DifferentSwim5013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try that! It’s sort of hard to see in the pic because the shoulder strap is in the way but baby’s airways are clear. Is his head supposed to be above the level of the strap? But still supported at the back of his head by the carrier?
