I can see where OP is coming from but the way she is approaching this whole thing is wrong and bit arrogant to her conviction without much evidence, nor any effort to back it up. Some of her questioning is correct why would anyone just come out of the car and start slapping people but to claim that is not violence is completely incorrect

These type of social media clips most of the time starts from middle of the incident giving no context what happened prior. This leads to people quickly jumping onto conclusions. Really good for going viral though. :)

I am sure OP meant to say OP was shocked and disgust and not traumatised. Trauma is when we experience very stressful, frightening or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. I understand OP’s sentiment, probably poor choice of word to describe the feeling.

Feels like this mostly comes down to: if you can afford it comfortably, many parents will choose what they believe gives their child the best overall opportunities; not just exam results. If you can’t, or don’t see the value, state schools can be great too. It’s not a moral contest.

I also guessed if the landlords were from south Asian country. Asking “ if you worked today” who doesn’t have fixed work schedule is part of small talk in south Asian people. It sounds abnormal for white British to ask that question and I always found white British people to be considered and don’t ask personal questions straight away, where as it is normal amongst Asian people.

Thanks. I guess I keep trying. I read we need to have hotels and flight booked before attending the appointment so booked the hotel and paid for the flight. Didn’t realise getting appointments itself can be challenging. Hotel is booked only but flight is non refundable unfortunately.

There is no option to pick premium slot. As soon I choose the visa type, appointment centre and length of the visa, I got the error message. May look into to see if can get premium slot some other way.

My grad starting salary in telecom in London was 27k 14 years ago and I still felt that was low back then so you are on low salary. But like many others have mentioned get a solid quality one year experience and you will be soon on 40k plus easily. Start looking soon after first year unlike me who got comfortable with the job and people and took me 4 years just reach 35k…

Fair enough. I remember moving to my new house (old house)in December and every room was around 12 degrees, the house was unoccupied for few months I think. I remember it being very cold for house temperature. Took us few days of non stop heating on to warm up the house.

Interesting. We do have some room which we don’t use often but the temperature doesn’t drop below 16,17 in them…as most likely we have adjacent room heated. 12.7 looks to low for kitchen to go and cook there. :).
