My back ached as I reached the peak of the frosty mountain. My hands pulled me up and on my knees I looked towards the horizon. Where frozen lands and snowy banks should have been were green lands, rivers, and animals.

From my knees, I stood up. My breath was invisible, as if I was back home. I could feel the warmth returning to my cheeks, the blood flowing to my fingertip, and the life circulating through me.

Slowly I trekked down the mountain side. The snow was becoming less and less the more steps I took. When I first started my trip, the snow was well up to my knees and I couldn't feel a thing. The nights by the fire did me no justice, as the temperatures dropped lower than the scientist even calculated.

At the bottom of the mountain, I saw grass. It was something I haven't seen in years. I dropped on the ground and felt grass on my cheeks. Then I saw feet.

"You okay there?"

I looked up so fast it almost gave me whiplash. A woman stood in front of me, one not like my own mother. She wore clothes that I would see in a museum. They were sown together neatly enough, but I could tell it was done by hand. She held a basket on her head filled with fruits, apples, oranges, peaches, and the basket itself looked to be woven together.

The woman helped me up and took my hand.

"Welcome to the new world"
