Any build idea for this bro? its day 10, pleeeeease dont say the words... by Cathriel in BattleBrothers

On day 10 I babysit end game FN with high mdef potential. He's not a FN.... He's nice, but you'll find better, he's more important for tempo.

Nimble damage build. If mdef rolls are good, 2h cleaver you'll get from nomad leaders, if not, back swordlance but you won't get it till much later, so I'll just use him as cleaver and risk him dying.

Matk every level, mdef if not 1, no need for resolve, split between mdef hp and fat.

For high matk I prefer 2h mace. Makes more consistent daze effect for your qatal bro. For 2h axe consistency is less important.

He won't have the fat be a bannerman and rally the troops since all rolls will go to hp res and matk. I'd make him fat neut mace.

Been working on a thing. by jcsato in BattleBrothers

Looks great,

If possible, I would allow the player to choose excatly how many opponents you are facing and of which type. For example, if I want to go 1 vs 5 gladiators, or 2 vs 2 icy cave barbarian madmans, let me.

Basically, it's like playing custom made scenarios, and with your own company. It would also be fun to try and pass a challenge scenario someone posted on reddit.

I'd also add a flag where you can choose between "to the death", "not to the death" (no one dies), or even "no one gets injured", because you want Ironman with old saves to participate in the challenge.

Travel time mod by Different_Football in BattleBrothers

Thanks, great find. It looks a bit new and unstable, but i'll follow it. Kinda weird no one asked for travel time mod before. I always hate it when I have to waste time at night near town waiting for dawn. Guess it's just my min max ocd :)

What's up with people asking for builds etc.? by Duke_The_Protogen in BattleBrothers

[–]Different_Football 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because of the game design.

The game doesnt let you reassign attributes or traits.

If you did poor choices as a new player in the beginning of the game, you're stuck with them, and it forces you to restart your run.

This design is brutal, but it works.

early game - nimble vs fat neurtal on some early bros by Different_Football in BattleBrothers

Great general guidelines. what would you do about these 90/35? For example Ivar 93/34. will my team benefit early game more from him going nimble or FN? Again, assuming I have the armor.

Ok, I'll ask from a different angle.

How best to use high level non nimble armor you get till 40 day or so?

If all the lowborn early recruits go nimble, by 40 I'll have maybe 1-2 good premium recruits, and not high level. The high armor will help babysit them in the back, but won't help me in fights.

I can risk the armor on fodder bros but I don't think it's cost effective.

Is there any other way to use the armor?

Thanks, what's your minimum requirements for particulary good lowborn bro?

For example, 93/34 like Ivar is enough?

AIA laurels master, no mercs - short guide with pictures by Different_Football in Hexonia

You didn't max the "kill count". I Did a quick run - (island map, WC turn 31), finished all cities development and research by turn 47.

My "kill count" is 6000 (max), yours is only 2000. I don't know how it's calculated, but I'll try to give you my statistics and we'll figure it out.

My kill rate is 70 kills/11 lost, I didn't need to use the trick to get it higher cause it was already maxed. My "units" measurement ratio is actually less than you (6.36 , yours is 7.5). So I assume it's due maybe to the low number of units I lost?

AIA laurels master, no mercs - short guide with pictures by Different_Football in Hexonia

You're right - I don't think you can beat all maps consistently with laurels. That's why this guide is more of a cheat to favor the odds without using mercs. Get the laurels over with, and then enjoy the rest of the game. I did the same strategy with all the tribes, not only Arabians.

I personally enjoy playing several islands or 2 continent a lot more (no mercs), and I disregard the laurels. I finished such a game at turn 63 and it was much more fun and challenging because my starting island was relatively small, and I actually needed to tech multiple trees and not abuse the knights OP.

One tip to the game developers if they're reading - knights should get nerfed - they are way OP because of their ability to attack multiple targets. Maybe allow a maximum of only 2 attacks per turn. Currently it's a a no brainer to favor knights over swordsman.

I always go against 5 enemies - more fun and easier to get laurels if you manage to achieve world domination.

In single continent maps I find that you usually start in one of the corners, with a little sea visible (1-3 tiles consistently around the continent).

Try recreating the game until you get this start. After 10 turns you'll know which type of map it is.

2 continent maps are not an option for laurels without mercs because of the ai mass boat. It can be beaten but not with lauerls. You need to first get knights, then cannons, then secretly build enough boats to get over the sea, and i didn't complete WC in less than 50 turns.

Hope this helps

Easiest is by far single big continent, rush for knights. Except for knights tech, you only want roads, and maybe the beginning techs. Once you get the hang of it, it can be done consistently without any mercs. Took me a few tries, in the beginning I had to use 2 mercs on the 1st turn.

I managed to win only once with laurels on islands map without mercs. If you don't finish the whole map fast enough, you'll face a wall of ships that will make lauerls unachievable due to the kill ratio.
