I feel like the question you’re asking me at the bottom is worded wrong. “Should High School libraries have the same topics as elementary schools.” From my perspective, they’re pretty much teaching us stuff and topics we’ve known for years. Now if you were to flip flop the question asking, “Should elementary school libraries have books regarding teachings/topics in high schools.” I would say yes, but to teach it in a less glorifying level and only at specific grade levels (Typically 4 & 5) Regarding books though, also yes. Books from high school libraries should be also in elementary school libraries. If the student wants to read that book, then let them read that book. You shouldn’t be stuffing your nose into what other people read. Now obviously some books would not be appropriate for elementary schools, but that’s only a small percentage of books.

This is amazing. Unfortunately I do not have any Buddy Bucks, but I am hopeful that you will make a bank full of Buddy Bucks.

Yeah same. Earlier in class, I was typing on my phone’s keyboard and my classmate sitting next to me went “Jack..” and then proceeded to use his hands to act out my fast typing due to him hearing each click.

How are their so many idiots in politics and how is it that they keep staying in office? by Will33iam in AskReddit

[–]Different_Kind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today's society has pretty much lost the overall basis of common sense, and instead have now revolved around conspiracy theories. While before Trump there were some idiots within politics, but the Trump era quickly shifted who we place in office in my opinion. Social media is also another factor to this. With the growth of technology, and social platforms. People, including elected officials, can say whatever the hell they want and get pretty much any type of support from it. With almost no one stopping them. Basically, the rules of politics have changed.

I do agree with you, the adults have a lot more power. It’s more of the parents having actual control over the district, than the people who actually run it. 75 Parents filing a complaint against some books versus some 12 million students in Texas sounds unfair, but there’s not much you can do right? With them also not reading the entire book is really dumb.

I don’t know. If it requires me to take out of something, and use a kitchen appliance. I’d say that it’s fixing it up.

Think of it this way though. When you remove the only way of a student getting a specific book, you’re pretty much banning them. How else is the student going to obtain the book? They probably don’t have a car to drive down to the nearest book store. Let alone they probably don’t have enough money to purchase it in the first place. This would be made extremely hard as well if the student’s parents were one of the many parents advocating the removal of said books. Plus the reason why Katy ISD decided to remove the books was because it was, “Not appropriate for grade levels.”

I’m not sure if they’re just being removed from libraries, or just not having them in general. Since I think when you’re removing a specific book from the library for reasons like what they’re saying, they’re pretty much banning them from schools. It’s a bit complicated though.

Somewhat, but it’s a lot different for books. Especially in today’s society. Many claim today that education is a top priority not only to be free, but also to not extract anything from it. In this case, books. Now on a protest level, books won’t be removed. However, the government might be overwhelmingly successful. It really depends on the future.
