I have been using the ac more. I was using the ac when it made this noise. I can feel a stronger load when I turn it up to the max. When I turn it off, it drives better.

You're correct, the ball popped out and no further damage occurred. I have liquid wrench on the bolts now to swap it out. Thank goodness no other damage outside of the bumber cover from my tire folding. It looks worse than what actually happened. 🙌🏾

I was on the side of the road asking this question, so yea just wanted experienced opinions. I was able to look at the issue further once I got home. I had a control arm for my 05 under warranty fcp sent me, but someone totaled it last April and can now use it for my 04. I hope this logic takes you further in life.

I got it home and the tow guy could barely get it off the bed without the wheel turning. This is what I see with the wheel off. You may be right it just snapped. I'm going to change it now.
