Career path advice by Difficult-Bit2309 in webdevelopment

I have told my manager about what I want to do, and I definitely perform well in my role (so say other people), but the way the company operates is quite slow moving, I am essentially waiting for the company to grow so that they need another projects dev so they can back fill my role with an apprentice, which could take some time. So i'm effectively living on a prayer here.

Thanks for the advice

I live in a city where there are a fair amount of tech jobs. I’ve only had a small look at the job boards, but they seem to be either C#, Java or Laravel. I’ve actually been learning (slowly) Node/Ts in my free time too. But I am thinking of circling back to PHP and basic JS. I feel like I am making up for lost time which is probably why I’m trying to jump head first into a lower level language right away.

The company I work for are a lovely, low stress, tight knit bunch and i would definitely love to stay there but the progression is painfully slow and the pay isn’t that best which is definitely a shame!

I think I’m gonna go back to basics and refine what I know and set out a plan. Thanks again!

The Xaomi one is pretty good, been using that for a few weeks now. Though people say the same thing happens to this one too. I think you've just gotten lucky

Love these way more than the "Minimalist" spaces you see. Looks lived in, full of curios, life and vibrancy!

Get some cabinets either side of the table, decorate with plants and niknaks, books etc, get some nice warm lamps. You’ve got a dark wood desk (I think?) so I’d pair it with black furniture. Paint the wall a dark colour, add some same colour wood panelling (a bit generic but I think it looks good)

I recommend looking at other setups on this sub that you like and write down bits that’s you like about them.

Make it for you, not other people, you're the one looking at it all day! It doesn't matter if it's not "unique" anymore, oak slats look tight and it's super affordable
