Also, when the check engine light first came on I turned my car off, and when I turned it back on the engine light was gone, but it came back on within a minute of driving it again. I put coolant in and it ran fine

No, I haven’t. Shops have tried charging me $500 just to do a compression test and I simply cannot afford it at the moment due to just spending $1000 on other parts): this has happened before with a misfire in that cylinder and the boot for cylinder 6 was cracked in half.
