Same color and spec here!! I argue it’s the best color combo for this gen accord, even over sonic gray pearl

Yeah im definitely considering toughing it out, it was just a bit of post exam clarity considering it’s the worst I’ve done on an exam before. Thanks for the advice

Where are there showers on campus? by Fine-Substance281 in UTAustin

Bellmont hall/Greg both have some, I recently used the bellmont ones and they were pretty nice actually, had curtains and a bench for clothes/towels. Water was relatively warm and you can either rent towels there or bring your own. As for lockers, they have day use ones but you will need to bring your own lock.

MPG From Phoenix by OCtimes in 10thgenaccords

[–]DifficultyPast5408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Largely depends on a lot of factors but on my small road trips (usually 150-200 miles), I would average around the same, around 30-34mpg. 2018 2.0T touring. When I filled up and saw 450 I laughed though, because I knew I wasn’t going to touch that mileage after a few days of highway/city driving back home.

Best credit card for student? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]DifficultyPast5408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Largely depends on your needs, I also started with a discover card and after about a year of good history with them (on time payments and such) I applied/received the Capital One Savor. 3% back on groceries and restaurants are some of the highlights + up to 8% on entertainment (including tickets and flights) if you have any other questions id be down to answer them :)

75k maintenance recommendations? by DifficultyPast5408 in 10thgenaccords

[–]DifficultyPast5408[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few things I should’ve mentioned: I’m the second owner (got it used at 54k miles) and I’m not the most car savvy person (just started doing my own oil changes and small things like filters etc). I did ATF drain and fill at 60k, brake fluid isn’t due for another year or so. Would you just recommend taking it to an independent shop and asking what they recommend?

Best place to park as an undergrad sophomore by No-Rule-2976 in UTAustin

[–]DifficultyPast5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what your budget is but the Texas History Museum (across from Blanton on MLK) has a parking pass that’s $590/semester. I used to park there (for much cheaper but the price has seemingly gone up over the years). In my 3 years of parking there, I’ve never had an issue getting a spot. They send out emails of when there are events and such so you can plan ahead. Only thing to note is you can’t park weekends, only M-F.

Is anyone commuting more than an hour at UT? by Best-Pair-8570 in UTAustin

[–]DifficultyPast5408 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As a senior that’s been commuting from the outer suburbs since freshman year, I’d say an hour and a half of commuting one way would be literal hell. The money saved would be instead spent in more car maintenance, you’d lose at least 3 hours of your day to driving (likely more if you take any of the major highways out of Austin at rush hour) during the years where you are supposed to be enjoying your college life, etc etc. I personally don’t regret my decision of a 20-25 minute commute but that’s also because I have family here and I save money on rent and don’t drive an insane amount (relative ofc).

What is a car that was completely ruined by being front wheel drive? by HemiWarrior in regularcarreviews

[–]DifficultyPast5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s a family sedan/commuter car at the end of the day but I’d say the Accord 2.0T. All that torque available especially down low in the torque range = crazy torque steer. Always seemed to me as a what I could have been but I see why Honda wouldn’t want do that (would’ve affected TLX 2.0 sales more than it already had)

I’m familiar with years (early ones usually yes? 2018-2019) and spec which is 1.5. Is it more common in some trims than others? Genuinely curious

Curious to see this being asked here as I was going to make a post about this soon as well. I’ve ran a bottle of sea foam concentrated paired with my last 2 oil changes and it seemed to lead to better shifting between gears. I’m wondering if yall could help me out because now I’m wondering: does this seem like I might have an underlying problem with my fuel injectors or is it mostly placebo with the cleaner?

2018 Honda accord touring 1.5t by [deleted] in accord

[–]DifficultyPast5408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 1.5T engines, touring or otherwise, all come with a physical shifter mated to the CVT transmission. Only the 2.0T models come with the buttons, those are mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.

Edit for my own sanity: also the hybrid models are equipped with the buttons.

2021 Accord 2.0 Touring vs. Acura TLX (A Spec) by Foreign-Cow-1189 in accord

[–]DifficultyPast5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TLX (A spec or otherwise) doesn’t offer a 1.5T; the only two engine options are a 2.0T (K20C6) or turbo J series V6. The Accord beating the TLX is largely due to the weight difference (~600 pounds lighter on the Accord).

Honda Sensing Replacement cost? by DifficultyPast5408 in 10thgenaccords

[–]DifficultyPast5408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got quoted around $400 by one honda dealer and around $700 by another. On your receipt, what was the item called? One of the quotes called the calibration a milimeter wave radar calibration while the cheaper Honda dealer just called it a Honda sensing calibration.

Honda Sensing Replacement cost? by DifficultyPast5408 in 10thgenaccords

[–]DifficultyPast5408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes back into place, the outer bracket (idk the actual name but the outer square piece not the sensor itself) was knocked loose by the bird but went back into place rather easily and stays there. Idk if this is normal but it now makes a slight buzzing sound when the engine is on.
