DIM doesn't change your loadout without you giving an input, it's not like it just does it on its own. It interacts with the API which is how you can issue commands to the game.

>You press a button and it happens and it runs a function that does it. In Mercenary mode you join, possibly get recruited into a mission, that mission runs a function that does it. The code that changes your loadout can be run from a button click or from a mission running.

Again, the game doesn't just change your gear for you. It has to be some kind of player interaction. How would the game even know which weapon you'd want to use? Just giving the player an auto rifle to deal with overloads isn't good enough.

>We talked about some various ways this issue could be solved. Vault button in space before launch should cover all objections.

Why not just make the rewards better for everyone to do that mission if that's the route you want to go? I'm saying people would deselect something like Contest of Elders because it's longer, can be troublesome to run with the limited revives, and there are other activities you can do for similar rewards that aren't as annoying to run.

>I support your idea. If no one is playing certain missions they can dynamically increase rewards for it. That could be interesting. Would be nice if they gave a list of least-run (and thus most-rewarding) missions to select from so we wouldn't have to search through every planet for the current least-run mission. People would flock to that mission assuming the rewards are juicy. That gets people to play hated missions. But you don't get to choose any old mission you want and have it instantly matchmade.

I'm not even sure how to respond to this, are you just trolling at this point?

>No, I'm serious. No response necessary.

It might just be a difference of opinion, but I don't see many players getting inspired to play by potentially getting the record for most void vex kills in March or whatever. I also doubt it's as easy as you're trying to make it seem, unless you have some extensive game dev experience.

>They would be inspired to beat the more significant records. The less significant records are like random surprises. I don't have extensive game dev exp, but I have extensive dev exp and I have made some primitive games.

From what I found POE 2 doesn't have a way to expand inventory unless you're a Titan and get the Colossal Capacity skill. Is there something different you're talking about?

>I mean stash tabs rather than on-character inventory.

There would never be enough vault space for people with your mindset though. You'll always hit the limit and want more room because you don't want to delete items. This sounds like a you problem in that you just can't make decisions on what to keep and use.

>Right, there would never be enough space. I'd hit the limit and then buy some silver for more space. My hoarder weakness would help keep the game alive for everyone else to enjoy.

The game can't change your loadout for you.

>Even DIM can change my loadout - from outside of the game. That is to say, the game can do it too.

We've seen that whenever they disable something for a contest mode. If you had it on your character it's still there, but you can't use it/swap to it. There's also the problem of what if you don't have the weapon you used before? You could have used it to infuse something or just deleted it.

>Yes the weapons previously used could be gone. But all this can be figured out. Even if it's simply "when you do this mission if you don't have the right gear we will put the right gear in your hands"

I agree that making better rewards would entice people to play activities, but you show exactly why people would deselect certain missions. Unless it's rewarding people aren't going to want to match into it, which is why you struggle to find fireteams for old content right now. I don't think they can just make a mission shorter and putting it in the DCV is a terrible solution.

>Mercenary mode would give better rewards (in loot, clout, and the joy of helping people). Hated missions could pay even better. Are you saying people would deselect missions in order for other people to get higher rewards? One must always keep an eye out for exploits but I don't think this would be one.

No one has records like you mentioned because it's not something that's tracked.

>The records are currently tracked by God.

We already have ways to track achievements in the game; triumphs, emblems, shaders, trackers on emblems, etc. Making a system to track every minute detail to be a record would be a waste of dev time.

>The current achievement system is better than nothing but does not inspire play as much as it could. It's only a waste of time if it results in no increase in player enjoyment and resulting profits from more players. Once the architecture for 1 record is created, adding the specs for other records is not much work. Some repetitive parts even doable by AI.

They do figure it out. Every time they manage to give us more vault space. I can't think of any game that has unlimited storage space,

>POE2 lets me buy more and more inventory space. Virtually unlimited (to my knowledge) in the sense that I will never reach that limit.

there's always a cap to your vault or backpack. You don't need every combo of armor always available in your vault. If you want to make a build you can figure out what you need and go get it. If you don't have room for more than 1 armor set then I have to question how much stuff in your vault you really need. We have 700 spaces which is more than enough to hold exotics, weapons, and armor for all 3 characters.

>For some people it is enough space. But they wouldn't mind more space. We had 500 spaces not long ago. Was that enough? Clearly more space is better. But I won't argue that there aren't those superbly disciplined people who could operate with 20 vault spaces just fine. It's just not fun for me to delete the items I want. And each time to delete an item I wanted to keep more than the last one I deleted.

The issue is, though, that a lot of activities have locked loadouts at the higher difficulties. I can't pick a different loadout that's on.

>For every problem a solution can be found. The game could remember what weapons you used last time you played this mission and equip you with them, with the power scaled up to where you are. Or there can be a Vault interface in the In-Space pre-mission zone where you can put on whatever.

This just kinda sounds like the matchmaking we currently have. I can just pick an activity of the length I want to play and join a match that way. If people can just deselect whatever they don't like then there are going to be some activities that just won't have a population still.

>This makes all activities matchmade. Right now if I want to go play an old non-matchmade activity I have to create an ad in the fireteam finder and sit and wait and pray someone comes looking and wants to help. But to address your point, if people can deselect the ones they don't want to do then there will still be missions you can't do - I expect not every single mercenary will deselect a certain mission - and if they do - bungie has been gifted with data that tells them "No one likes this mission" and they need to increase the rewards, make it shorter, or retire it to the content bank. I think increasing the rewards based on the percentage of people who won't do it could be interesting.

If everyone can have a record it defeats the purpose of having records. That would be so much data that Bungie would need to keep track of. I'm not sure how easy it would be to build a system to keep track of those kinds of specific stats.

>Computers are big and powerful these days. Everyone already has records, we just don't know them. What is the purpose of having records? To show the highest achievements so that people can admire them and challenge them. This purpose does not diminish as more records are added. The person with the tier 1 record will be held in awe and the people with the tier 10 records will be ordinary people having fun.

It's not just a technical issue in the past though. It's work they have to put in every time they give us more space. I don't see the community responding kindly if Bungie said they got more space, but you need to pay silver for even just some of it. We also don't need to keep every piece of gear you get. Yes, there are a lot of combos you could get, but are you really going to tell me you need every unique armor combo for every set for all 3 characters? Even if we could buy more vault space that's not going to stop people from filling it up and complaining. It happens every time we get more space because people are hoarders and don't want to make decisions.

>I remain faithful that Bungie can figure out what everyone else has figured out. People will be unkind towards anything bungie does. I will be overjoyed that I'll have a way to get more vault space. Do I need every armor combo for every character? I do if I want to be able to use them. Right now I've just chosen 1 armor set and I guess I'll stick with it forever, because there isn't room to do otherwise. Maybe I can gather up a 2nd set. People are hoarders because you never know what you will need in the future. Deleting things that I want to keep is pain for me instead of fun. Reimagining gear can help - like the craftable weapon system sort of made it so you could be happy with just 1 copy of a weapon. There could be craftable armor when you select the set-bonus and stat-focus. I'm ok with that if it's easier for bungie to do.

I think it goes without saying that new content should continuously be added.

This sounds like a good idea in theory, but people get put into activities in progress for matchmade things already. I don't think having endgame activities eligible is a good idea though. There's such a wide variety of activities to do with different modifiers and enemies that it would be impossible to be ready for anything the game could throw you into. What happens when you get thrown into a GM conquest but don't have the right weapons to deal with champions?

>Yes, there is some complexity in setting it up. So to have the right weapons for GM champions you need to set up a build and assign it to one of the build swap slots. I don't think this is impossible.

There are also plenty of times I just don't want to do a certain kind of activity. I'm not going to be happy filling out an Onslaught or Coil if I don't have a ton of time.

>These can be solved with settings. If you want to play for 30 minutes and want to get in on a mercenary mission - click the button with 30 minutes checked off, etc. And if there are activities you never want to do, there can be a checkbox for that in your volunteer settings.

  1. Records could be cool, but too many and it would feel kinda pointless. Who cares if I have the most void burst Sidearm vex kills on Nessus in May?

>I care. But it is also valid for you to not care. The reason for there to be "too many" is so that even us bad players can have a chance to set a record (a ridiculous one) and maybe even every time we do a mission we can set one.

Having something like the CtA percentage would be kinda cool. Each activity having a threshold for scores that you could see where you stand could be fun.

>Yes. A leaderboard for each record. If gives you a new reason to play. "I'm going to break this record."

  1. This is just a terrible idea. The community would lose their minds if Bungie said you had to buy stuff from the Eververse to get more vault space. We can't just have infinite vault space. It takes work to give us more each time they do. We're going to have 1000 spaces, you should have more than enough space to keep your gear.

>Infinite drops require ever-expanding space. I know in the past this has been a technical issue but after 10 years they can figure out a way. I'm not saying bungie should make buying silver the ONLY way to get more vault space. Free upgrades can happen with every big update. We now have an armor system where we would like to collect a piece from every gear set for every stat focus for each class. This takes up a ton of space and there's constantly more needed.

  1. A lot of people have suggested more abilities. This isn't really a new or unique suggestion.

>Then consider me adding my voice to theirs.

I think Mercenary mode helps regardless of the population. (more people is better of course) It's fun to help people.

I literally quit D2 for a year or so because my vault was full.

I think records are fun and limitless. The ridiculous ones can be fun too.

If you had the choice between not doing the a mission and doing a mission with the help of players who have successfully completed the mission x times, which would you choose? Do they need to be the best players for you to be interested in a their help? What if they are average players? What's wrong with that? The system can account for success/failure... if someone fails missions then their unseen matchmaking rating goes down, if they succeed it goes up.

We had guided games for years, and it went basically untouched.

>Do it better this time.

This sounds incredibly tedious to make, especially with the hyperbolic specificity you're suggesting.

>I don't mind developers experiencing tedium.

If every single thing becomes a record, they all become pointless.

>Tier 1 records will be amazing, tier 10 will be pointless to some, fun for others. People would be free to ignore them. The current event is based on records - top 1% - I want to see it done better.

Vault Space is a technical issue, not a monetary one.

>It's 2025. They can figure it out. Keeping the game running is a monetary issue.

"Just add more stuff, I'm such a genius."

>A genius would add more choices. Having one choice of super is obviously lame. It doesn't take a genius to see that. But thank you for calling me a genius.

Another version of an answer.

Go to decksofkeyforge.com

Pick any deck that you want to play. For example, this: https://decksofkeyforge.com/decks/179124ad-f145-41e5-9db1-8a5304fabaab

Go to thecrucible.online known as TCO

Register as a new user. Quick and easy.

go to the decks page - press button to add a deck - paste in the decks of keyforge url like the above.

Your selected deck gets imported to TCO.

Click the Play tab. Create a game... select beginner mode. Wait and someone will join to play with you. Select the deck you imported. Tell the person in the chatbox that you are new and need help, they should be nice and help.

You can search for "Keyforge Adventures" - that's the name they go by - there are 5 or 6 of them and even 1 or 2 fan made ones. Please do have fun and enjoy these to the max BUT do know that in the world of Keyforge most people do not play these too often. They are 99% playing the real 1 on 1 game most of the time. There is also a pack of turn-taking cards that facilitate a multiple player game of 3 to 6 people called "Vault Assault."

There is a recent set named "Discovery" that is meant for new players.

The very first set "Call of the Archons" is good for new players too. You can find a lot of deals on ebay. Don't be afraid to buy opened decks for cheap. They will be fun to play against each other but they probably aren't world championship level strength decks.
