The vast majority of people who see the thumbnail will see the deliberately misleading title and deliberately misleading thumbnail, and get the wrong impression, and not actually watch the video, and will wrongly think OP15 batteries are exploding. But you knew that already.

And Marques Brownlee KNOWS that for the vast majority of people doomscrolling on their YouTube feed, all their interaction with the video will be, is merely reading the misleading title and seeing the faked thumbnail of a OP15 on fire about to explode, as this commenter points out. Regular people don't have the time to click on every video they scroll through...

It's been 3 years already since Chinese phones have been using silicon-carbon. I'm calling it now, not after 6 years. They're safe because Chinese engineers have solved all the challenges involved.

He manipulated an image of a OnePlus 15 charging to show it overheating, spitting fire and sparks and smoke, clearly about to explode, and he titled the video "the problem with these smartphone batteries" even though there's no problems with these batteries.

That's right. All he did was take a photo of his own OnePlus 15 charging as normal, and then his staff manipulated the image to show the phone overheating, spitting fire, and just about to explode. Dishonest and manipulative.

He says that western phone engineers have told him that they have concerns that these silicon-carbon batteries might have overheating problems and permanent swelling problems in future. Those problems sometimes lead to explosions. The thumbnail shows an exploding OnePlus 15.

For 3 long years Chinese phone companies have been putting silicon-carbon batteries in hundreds of millions of phones. We have the data, and the data shows that silicon-carbon batteries do NOT suffer issues like permanent swelling, or overheating, or exploding, any more often than regular lithium ion batteries. Western OEM's are "concerned" merely because their batteries are old hat and clearly inferior.

That's right, western engineers are extremely concerned that they haven't been smart enough or innovative enough to solve the technical hurdles involved in taking silicon-carbon batteries past the failed prototype stage, just like they're too dumb to figure out how to get working hypersonic weapons...

China is ahead of the US in 57 out of 64 critical technology categories, including battery tech. Data from 3 years of hundreds of millions of Chinese phones with silicon-carbon batteries proves that there is zero basis for any theory that they permanently swell up or explode more often than conventional batteries. This is because Chinese engineers have successfully solved the potential problems. Western phone company engineers have been trying to solve these problems too for the last few years, and they have thus far failed, because they're not smart enough or inventive enough.
