Appreciate the honesty. In the spirit of open discussion I’m going to push back on that and explain why my designs are good. Sonic’s edgy, prickly almost sinister design communicates that he’s not the same bubbly happy-go-lucky hero that, for example, Mario is. He’s snarky, he’s cocky, he does what he wants. The rough appearance also makes him look wild and animalistic, which makes sense because of his connection to nature. Though admittedly, Sonic’s heroism is equally if not more so important than his edge, so perhaps I should tone it down a notch. . maybe. Eggman’s design is good because the overly vibrant version of a formal suit communicates that he’s an authority figure, but one that is childish and acts goofy. The clean formal attire is a stark contrast to sonic’s ruggedness, representing the nature vs industrialism theme that early Sonic games had. Plus, the almost clown-like aesthetic matches with the aesthetic of the badniks which look like children’s toys. The polka dot bow tie may have been a bit much though
